Nice corner restaurant. Door sticks as you come in, pull hard. I ordered the Hot buttery chicken wings with Mac and cheese and collard greens. My husband ordered the pork belly burnt ends with Mac and cheese and baked beans. They had some really good jazz music playing in the background. The husband and wife were very helpful with questions about the menu, even warning about the spice level. She brought our food out, they gave me green beans instead, they were out of the greens. My wings were nice and spicy. Mac and cheese was a bit dry, so was the cornbread, but had good flavor. My husband liked his burnt ends. He said the baked beans were sweet, tasted good. I would love to try this place maybe earlier in the day, so everything is fresh.

In the time they've been open they've really gotten so much better at the consistent quality of the sides. Can not recommend this place enough.

Pretty decent BBQ. Had the ribs, they were a bit dry and portions were small for the price. The collared greens were ok, a bit over cooked and could have used a touch of vinegar. Maybe I should have tried the pulled pork. Service was very friendly.

We're traveling and wanted to meet a friend for dinner. He suggested Mary Ellen's. I'm so glad he did! This is soul food and you can tell the food is made with love. Everything sounded good, we had a hard time deciding. Hubby ordered the fried catfish, baked beans, and mac'n cheese. I ordered the hot butter wings, greens, and mac'n cheese. Everything was delicious. We talked with the owners and they were very nice people. Great service! We'll definitely be back when we're in Lincoln. I highly recommend. I'm pretty picky when it comes to bbq, and Mary Ellen's blew me away. The ribs were delicious and the yummy sides take it to the next level.

The mains are great but ALSO the sides! Mac and cheese and potato salad are my faves. Sometimes these can be an afterthought but truly everything on the menu is really well done.

I was so especially happy to find this place. Since I don't live in Lincoln I don't know where to find the black owned businesses. So SCORE!!! There's no donate out from yet, but it's right on the corner, suite B. I'll update my review after I've tasted the food, but I can say the prices are very very reasonable $5.99 for meat and a side. The music they play is amazing, it would be a great place to eat in, the music gives it a great vibe. Insider's tip, it's not on the menu, but they have collard greens, so don't forget to ask.

All the food was great! They definitely care about flavor and the details. Best place in Lincoln for homestyle comfort food. The service was great as well had a very nice man take our order.

I had the pulled pork dinner. To judge BBQ I always like to taste the meat before adding the sauce, and this was possibly the best I've ever had. Good smokey flavor, don't really need the sauce, which is very good also. The beans were flavorful and sweet and the mac and cheese was very good. The only problem, $15, without drink, is a bit more than I want to spend for a quick lunch. I was hoping there would be enough to take some home but it was easy to eat the sandwich on a regular size bun.

My son went there a few weeks back and said they were extremely rude. After ordering the man at the register said he didn't feel like getting him his change. I've heard they are rude there but this is uncalled for. I would never step foot in this place. Give your business to somebody that will show you a little respect.
