We had a great experience at MAI, they were very supportive, accommodating, and responsive whenever I had questions. My teen son is not into sports but I wanted to get him active and this was perfect for him. He loves working towards his next belt and the goals that he sets. I like that it has given my son a new interest and that he is enjoying getting exercise

My son loves the classes! He looks forward to every class and it's been hard to keep him excited about anything besides video games. We have been attending a couple months now and I have seen a huge improvement on his self esteem and social skills. The classes are small enough were I can see the instructors giving him 1 on 1 coaching when needed. The environment is fun yet challenging for the kids. I would definitely recommend this studio to any parent!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. There is no way that I would ever sign another contract with this place. Slimy owner that clearly doesn't view his clients as customers. So much for all that honesty, integrity, respect, and trust they talk about on the floor. Because it all disappears once there's a real problem. At that point, they do nothing but hide behind misleading and confusing contract language all while trying to talk you in circles. My verdict is still to avoid this place. Run. Far away. Now.

The employes are very nice and the instructors are to.They take things slow but when it is your child's second time there they earn there white belt by breaking a board with their fist and everyone watches from that class.Weather they are little dragons or a older student they both break a board. They have a little dragons class and those are the younger kids like 1-6 or 1-7 and first is a white belt then white with a yellow stripe then white with orange, white&green, white&purple, white&blue, white&red, white&brown, and finally a white ab black. The older kids have class after the little dragons and it doesn't matter what age except you haft to be older than 8.To move up to the next class you must get a orange belt. The belt order goes, white, gold, orange, green, purple, blue, blue with a black stripe, red, red with a black stripe, then brown and white then brown, brown and black, black with white then another black with white, finally your black belt with your name sowed into it.They do activities and training.

This is so much more than a job for the instructors at Martial Arts International, it is clear that they are passionate about children being empowered and encouraged to be the very best verison of themselves.

We love MAI its a great school for kids and adults who want to learn self-defense and have help with behavior and goal setting. They work with the parents and with school to make sure we can set up students for success in the future. Having a job list encourages my son to try to help more around the house and has wanted to read more.

Martial Arts international IS awesome !We have been participating since March and are thrilled with the program. The positive reinforcement philosophy along with the multi-enriched respect/behavior model (home, school, program) increases accountability to self and has been a benefit to us as a family. Our son is a member of the Lil' Dragons group. He is a good kid moving towards greatness ... his "all boy" energy is put to good use at MAI. Each week body control/focus are improving along with confidence and skills. We love the music and high energy involvement by all the instructors especially with this age group.

An amazing martial arts school. It was focused on knowledgeable training for all levels & improving physical performance. Could not be happier training under a black belt Hall of Fame pro like Master Julios Melegrito! Highly recommend checking this place out!!!

If you are looking for a place to get your kid to Black Belt in a few years, this is the place for you. You'll be able to brag about your child being a Black Belt to all of your friends. Bring your checkbook and prepare to take a shower after you leave because once you get done dealing with the owner, you're going to feel dirty. I've dealt with used care salesmen that were less sleazy. You have to sign a year long contract that will cost you a grand plus, but you can negotiate for a shorter term, but it will cost you. The uniform is expensive, the sparring gear and weapons are outrageous. Everything about this place costs you money. They test (and pass) your child about every three months and after you reach a certain advancement level, you'll be expected to join the Black Belt Club, pay more money but guaranteed your child will become a BB.Essentially MAI is a belt factory. I moved my child when he was a brown belt and a few advancements from BB to another studio, that tested him and determined he was barely a green belt.My recommendation: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! ANYWHERE ELSE. JUST STAY AWAY!

I wish I could give zero stars to this company. I also wish I would've read the reviews before even taking my daughter to try out their 2 free classes as it would've deterred me from even signing her up after that. We are a family that qualified for the financial assistance (still paying $99/month) and everyone is required to sign a non-cancellable 1 year contract. What they don't tell you is that there is an additional charge for EVERYTHING else....a $100 sign up fee, $50 every 2 months if you want your student to be able to level-up/graduate to the next belt, footgear, headgear, chest gear, head gear all required before the green belt if you want to even be able to OBTAIN a green belt, and then weapons when they start to get into the more advanced belts. Don't get me wrong here, I realize that some of these are understandable equipment to be expected with this activity (now that I know what I know about martial arts); but for a family such as ours that had never had a child in martial arts, that is on a limited budget (that the company was made aware of up front), to have these fees not mentioned UP FRONT before we signed the contract is deceitful. It wouldn't be that difficult to say, oh by the way before you commit to a year....please be aware that there are additional costs of $50 6x/year if you want to graduate to the next belt and here is a list of the required gear (pertaining to which belt) and the costs that are involved with such gear. To not give a family that especially is getting financial assistance ALL OF THE FINANCIAL INFORMATION for the student to be successful in this program is again....DECEITFUL. Master Melegrito stresses to his students to be honest, disciplined, to have integrity...how can someone who doesn't even practice what they preach set an example for the children in this program??
