Mark David Floors

I had my wood flooring refinished my Mark David Floors. They did an excellent job. However, after the job was completed and the bill was paid I had an issue with the floors and needed a call back. I was very disappointed that my issue was not addressed and a representative was not sent out to even look at the floor. I was told over the phone "rub some furniture polish on it". So after a big investment and all the time and effort involved, I was very dissatisfied.

Mark David made the bid proposal for us. From the others we had bid, he was not the cheapest and not the most expensive. Him and his company did what they were expected and floors turned out amazing. If you are looking for quality work, they did great. I will warn get your spot on his schedule as with his price and work his company is in demand. We will be asking him back to do the upstairs.

can I give them less than 1 star? I had this company do what they call refurbish my wood floors since they were looking dull. The owner sold me the job but I never saw or heard from him since. The floors look worse than they did before. They are dull and tend to scratch very easily. We expected 2 coats and only got one. He also promised a cleaning kit which his workers did not leave. When I called they said I could drive down and pick it up...do not use this guy. Total ripoff.

We hired Mark David to refinish our wood floors. After several delays, his crew was instructed to use a new, untested top coat on the floor. It ruined the finish. Mark David told us he would make it right, then later wanted us to cover his costs to replace the floors (he told us this was the only way to fix the issue). I left messages for him for months. After he finally returned my call, he came to examine the floors again, and determined that they could be sanded down and refinished again. It was 10 months after the initial refinish date that the floors were finally fixed. Also, female customers should be aware that Mark David is a "hugger". I would not recommend this company.

We really enjoyed working with this crew. Mark, the owner, is hilarious and was very generous with his time and resources. Geoff, our main point of contact throughout the process, was kind and communicative, as well as willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were happy with the end product. The team gave great feedback when helping us pick a stain color, as well. Our very territorial cat even broke out of the basement a few times to give the crew a piece of his mind and they took his hissing harassment in stride. Overall, this is a lovely group of people who will work hard to make the customer happy. :) And our floors turned out great!

We had 1700 sq ft of 90 year old wood floors that needed refinishing. Mark David worked with us to find the perfect color and the floors are incredible. His crew was amazing, helpful, and patient with us. Redoing the floors was a huge investment for us and they were patient with us through the whole process. We even had a problem after they did the floors (painters messed up some of the floors) and they came right back out and fixed it all for us. We have been nothing but excited about them and everyone that visits our house comments on how beautiful they are.

First glance looks good. But there are area where the rough grain can be felt --places where a knothole has not been filled. Job finished on about 11-12-2014.I called a couple days later and asked if he would come take a look at it as I thought maybe it should have another coat. He said that wasn't necessary -- lots of people think that.... The overall look is very good but think some areas will wear faster because of not being completely sealed. JUST WISH HE WOULD HAVE AT LEAST COME OUT TO LOOK AT THE FINISHED PROJECT.

This guy had his team put in floors in my house a few years back. Pre-sale he was okay although very pushy about what he thought should be done with our floors. We went with his recommendation and the wood itself is fine but the work was not what he said would be done. 1. He said he would replace the baseboard with the same wood as the floor. Instead his team put the old molding back so it's a different stain than the floor though it matches the trim on the doors. He would not fix this and instead took money off the job. I would have liked him to do what he quoted. 2. When they put the floors in we pointed out where there was a squeak in the subfloor and asked them to fix it. They said they would but didn't. It still squeaks to this day. 3. The team doing the installation forgot to cut for the air vents. They realized when they were done and were still holding the wood vent covers... to correct they went through the ceilings in the garage and storage room below tearing up our ceilings. They refused to repair and said it was our problem- That these things happen sometimes. These were not small holes, they did not even cut it cleanly. They just tore it out. 4. They left equipment on after being done for the day. We didn't realize until it had to let off pressure or something and scared the wits out of us in the middle of the night. 5. Within a few days part of the floor was coming up. We called to request it be fixed. He refused saying it was our fault the floor was coming up and further insulting me and my home for which it's not appropriate to put here. I used this place on recommendation of a realtor and was pretty annoyed they made the recommendation after the fact. Would NOT use this place again.
