Review of their kids soccer league...Our daughter has participated in numerous soccer leagues with the Y, playing at the Maple St YMCA. They normally do a nice job, and have moved the start/finish times of the game a little, to make parking a bit easier, allowing for people to leave after their game before the next round of games start. The fields are well kept, and the referees are YMCA employees, not 'real refs', but they do a pretty good job. On occasion we have had a ref not show up, so a parent has had to step in. This isn't a super competitive league, and has volunteer coaches, but is a good way to introduce the kids to the sport, and help them learn the basics...and have fun!

We go here for all our kids sports activities! The field is great and the people are great also!. Between the times of 9 and noon parking is very difficult in the parking lot of the YMCA. I would recommend going into the neighborhood behind the field if you're looking for parking close so you don't have to walk very far. Other than that it's a great family experience!

If you want quality programming for your child, don't bother signing your kids up for dance at the Maple St YMCA. The lessons are completely age-inappropriate, the teacher never spoke to the parents. I mean no introduction, no updates after class, no NOTHING. Today, I receive an email stating that our recital will be the day before Easter. Since no one ever communicated with us, we planned to be out of town for the holiday, so now my kid has to miss it. I'm livid. Maybe it's better for the older kids (my kid is 4) or maybe other classes are better, but for $120ish for 30 mins a week for a couple months, lessons geared more for 10 year olds and a recital outfit that we're now not going to be able to use, it was a total disappointment.

After comparing the individual rates and rules at other Omaha gyms the YMCA turned out to be the best deal for me.Pros: You can use any of the Omaha metro Y's with your membership, the Maple St location has a ton of classes and they are offered late enough in the evening for people that don't work bankers hours, the staff have been really helpful and friendly, the machines are new and all seem to work well, there's a pool, joining fees waived for various groups (like military)Cons: locker room floor is always wet, pool kind of small and very chlorinated!, you have to quit in writing 30 days in advance to stop auto deduction

This is a really nice YMCA.They have great workout facilities, a nice pool and neat extras like a giant tube maze. They also offer affordable pre-school which my kids went too, babysitting for while you are working out, and neat craft programs for the kids. They, of course, also offer the wonderful sports programs that YMCA's are famous for. They lose one star for small parking lots.

Please be careful...!! As a woman with kids and will not tolerate injustice of any kind nor should anyone. Today was at gym and older man was rude and called me a B word and I complained to staff!! he made US confront each other and was worsen and made me uncomfortable and I froze my account for 1 month and than will talk to director and cancel my membership and my son hates the daycare center and will enroll them to boys and girls club instead as it's a sign that daycare center is not working out too The older man kept arguing with me after the staff left and I didn't want knock him to his grave but is why, told staff this man is not respectful of people space as he took his huge gym bag and chair on the side of the bike and near my workout area.. There's lockers to use it . I gave the YMCA 2 chances and done with the pest issue. Anytime fitness looks better even if I pay more I rather than put up with disrespectful humiliated experience . The staff is always on there phones and when something happens they lack the skills and then the threshold of the gym being out dated and older bathrooms and wondering what happened to upgrades none existence and no importance . Please don't go here is like worse than expected.

I love the Y. The exercise classes are great, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the equipment is surprisingly up to date. Great free weight room - has an old and dingy feel with nice equipment and not too many meatheads to intimidate you away. The cardio room is first rate. 5 plasma TV's, and 75% new treadmills, stairmasters, ellipticals etc. All equipment is well maintained as well.

I love this Y: so many excellent exercise programs for every level of fitness. My Medicare Advantage insurance (United Health Care) pays for my membership, so I give a donation to express my appreciation for the amazing group exercise leaders. They work very hard to help us older adults get fit and stay healthy, AND they are respectful, friendly and responsive . The exercise equipment is almost the same as you would find in very expensive studios, so why pay more for "the same thing?" The front desk staff used to be friendlier (they looked at people as they walked in) and more helpful (they could describe each class). Now they apparently have so much work to do on computers, that looking up at every person would interrupt their work so often that they couldn't accomplish enough. The sound systems in the gym have improved, and I'm glad that the leaders there don't BLARE the music at us. They usually provide music that is "age appropriate" for older adults. I wish that the volume in the upstairs studio were NOT so loud!

I love the classes here at the YMCA! You can go to almost any of them and they are fit for all levels. One complaint is that when you call and ask the front desk something that they can't answer they just tell you that they don't know and won't go try to find out the answer to your question. For example on a minor holiday I had called to ask if classes were the same as usual or if they had changed. The lady said she had thought that they were the same but didn't ask anyone else to find out. That night when I arrived for the class it had switched. Called today to ask them what the length of their pool was and the lady had no idea, and didn't bother to find out!!!

I was not impressed by the front office staff. I went in to sign up for a new membership and expected to have someone sit down and go over the memberships, prices and what's included they just handed me a flyer and told me to look at it. It ended up I was missing some paper work and instead of trying to find a way to help me they told me I needed it or they couldn't help me,I walked out with no plans to return. If they staff had been more polite and helpful I would have likely returned. Now I will find a gym with better customer service skills at the front desk.
