Lutfi's Fried Fish

We were in town for the CWS visiting from Colorado. Being a country boy from, I love fried catfish. Prior to the trip I googled restaurants in Omaha that offered the delicacy. After reviewing the choices, I settled on this place. We ordered the full order catfish dinner. It came right 19 strips of perfectly fried catfish and two sides. We choose fried okra along with red beans and rice. My son (10) and I had plenty to eat. The portions sizes were extremely generous. The Flavor of the beans and rice was point on. The okra was delicious too. The catfish was flaky, delicious, and piping hot! If I lived in Omaha this place would be a regular stop for us.

Closed an hour early, even though they were still in there... Long John Silvers it is!!!Won't be trying here again.

Wanted a quick bite to eat. Fish was the choice today. The atmosphere was very homey. The service was quick and fast. The food was hot and fresh. Our order consisted of 2 comeback meals, one with mac and cheese second with hush puppies. Would definitely go back.

I had never been to this restaurant. Me being a person of color don't feel good about saying something bad about a minority owned business but I found. My dining experience there to be marginal and mediocre at best.the fish was overcooked and lacked good flavor.sorry but that's how I see it. Good luck

NOT REAL CATFISH ‍ and half the sides were not available, so I had to choose red beans and rice, which was disgusting and mushy because the rice was overcooked and old. And the spaghetti was not seasoned, and it didn't have any meat in it, not to mention the catfish is not catfish. It's some kind of fish, but not catfish. Needless to say, I will not be going back, today was my first time in my last time eating here.

I ordered the fish and wings dinner with Mac n cheese and green beans for my sides. The greens were still cooking. Ac n cheese was just ok, they were lacking the cheesey cheeseyness I was expecting, maybe too much Velveeta. The green beans were obviously from a can, but they did an ok job of masking the can taste with seasonings, however I was expecting fresh or even from frozen green beans when you consider they are a little pricey. The fish was pretty good, fried crispy, good flavor and not greasy, so that was a win. The wings were smokey, pulled away from the bone easily and had flavor to the bone, so win again. However, the tables were sticky and dirty, the window wells were full of dust and kinds of water leak stains on the ceiling, it just looked like the place is in need of a good cleaning. I would come back again, but will skip the sides and get my food to go.

Fish was about the only thing we haven't had all week, so when it popped up on places I might enjoy, I hit the GPS and we came over to try it out. Hubby tried the special, which was walleye, with mac and cheese and fried okra. I saw chicken wings, smoked, paired with whitefish. Ordered it with a side of red beans and rice and SPAGHETTI! WOW! Who has spaghetti as a side dish? These guys, and it was tasty! There wwas a checkerboard set up on a table. We played it while we waited. The food was delicious and filling. I was going to get a slice of cake on the side ( a whopper-sized slice!) but I got full

Long time customers here. Old location on 88th and Maple was moved to 72nd Street . Nice cozy spot for fresh fried fish and fries. Never disappointed. Lots of folks do carryout as seating is limited. Highly recommend it.

My boyfriend looked up a place to eat that we haven't been to and found Lutfi's, when we walked in nobody was there. We were greeted so kindly by a wonderful lady and made the environment feel so welcoming. We ordered the catfish with fries, mac and cheese, and fried okra. We fell in LOVE with the catfish whether or not it's real (I've seen a comment about how it wasn't real) it was AMAZING either way, the seasonings they use are delicious and not to mention it had a nice crisp on the outside. We sat outside and the lady checked up on us and asked if we were doing okay and that they were closing, such a sweetheart. I was a little upset because the time that we were there we only seen 2 people show up. I would 100% suggest eating here, in my opinion it's worth it.

Just had their 10-piece shrimp dinner with two sides. It was all delicious. But they absolutely need to update their prices on their website! The red beans and rice was delicious and so was the potato salad! Wish I had their recipe for the spices they put on their shrimp because it was delicious! And the lovely lady that took my phone order and gave me my meal was just precious!
