Nice park for family camping. A bit too busy and smoky when everyone had fires but lots to do for kids. Train comes pretty noisily close and often so mind your space choice.

This campground is literally the most horrible camping experience we've ever had. The park is really run down and dirty. We usually camp in Iowa and our state parks are kept up really nice with clean restrooms and clean campsites. There are train tracks 20 yards from the tent sites and they are dangerously loud. After testing the decibels the sound is literally at an unsafe level to be exposed to for more than 30 seconds. The men's restrooms had the urinal and and one stall closed and the toilets didn't flush so there was fecal material piled up in the toilet. Also, in addition to the park being horrendous each vehicle had to pay an additional fee of 8 dollars a piece after paying for the campsite. That's pretty unheard of for most states in the Midwest.

We were so excited to come out for the new floating obstacle course today but after waiting in line for 40 minutes they were full and turned us away until the next "session". None of this process is online - Hello! Welcome to 2018 You cant sign a waiver online and you can't pre pay online... Why wouldn't they take a page outta the playbook from the 50 bounce places around here!?!? Now we have to wait until the next session and take our chances in the horrendously long line again. They really needed to think this through before opening it to the public because right now it's a cluster.Update: 3rd times a charm. We got in line an hour before the session and finally made it in. The kids had an amazing time but we're too tired to complete the whole 90 minutes. Suggestions for improvements: 1) needs a closer bathroom2) needs a place to wash off your feet3) sessions should only be an hour - tons of kids (and adults) couldn't finish. Shorter sessions means more people could enjoy it! :)4) life jackets were so tight my kids all had sore marks on them and the guards refused to loosen them. ;(

Gross bathrooms and a reservation system that allows people to hold on to sites they are not using. Some had been empty for a couple days and yet were not available and. Despite the abundance of available locations all over the part I was nevertheless told to take one of the 4-7 tent sites that were basically on a field with no real car access.

Nice site except it sits very close to a train depot. Within our first three hours seven trains went past within 50 yards of our camp site Durning the night over 50 trains blew whistles and went.by. Don't believe the cost report. You must pay additional ten dollars as a tax/fee to use park. So $11 equals to $21. (A fee is a tax that the people do not get to vote on.) I guess the next fee will be to breath air inside a SRA

Nice campground and park, but man the trains...This is a large State Park and campground located in Louisville, NE. Near the Platte River, this park has a large number of campsites, a swimming beach, small store/snack shack, and a number of small lakes for fishing and canoe/kayaking. We reserved our site online, and it was a quick check in when we got there. The site was nice, and the closest bathrooms were relatively clean, and air conditioned, which was a plus. They do also have some primitive pit toilets as well. The showers are coin operated, so bring some change or singles (they have a bill changer). The showers were again clean, and you can take a long shower for $0.75. Overall a nice place...so why the 3 star review? The trains! The park is located right along a rail line, and about every 1.5-2 hours a train comes through, horn blasting. Not a huge nuisance during the day (you get used to it), but they go all night long. Our first night resulted in not much sleep, although the second night was a bit better, guess we got a little more used to it. While I found it a bit annoying, it must not bother most people, as the weekend we were there it was booked solid, so reserve your spot online, or plan to get there early on a Friday morning to grab a spot.

We reserved a camping site in advance. When we arrived we were told we had to pay a day-use fee for each vehicle to get to the site we had already paid for. Since we had two vehicles with us we had to pay an additional $64 for our four night stay. It felt like extortion. We couldn't not pay the fee because we had prepaid for the camp site. We have stayed in state campgrounds from coast to coast and never had to pay this extra fee to get into the camp. We also found that showers were available - if you had enough quarters in your pocket. Four quarters for a five minute shower. The restrooms were not clean. If you wanted to change clothes in one you had to put your clean clothes on the dirty floor because there were no hooks or benches to put them on while you changed. We will never stay in a Nebraska State campground again.
