We decided to take a little trip out to Elkhorn and of course needed to stop by Little Scandinavia. My Swedish heart loves stopping here and seeing things that remind me of my grandmaThis trip we grabbed some Jellycat stuffed animals and some cute napkins. The selection there is absolutely amazing and staff are always so helpful and kind.Definitely some treasures that are sure to be heirlooms!

I wouldn't have known this store existed had an ad not popped up in my Instagram feed. Most such ads are like, "Yo, are you a white lady in her 30s?" I don't know if it was coincidence, or if my devices are listening to me inquire about the whereabouts of my lefse stick, but the algorithm seemingly replaced "white" with the more specific, "All the Nordics except for Icelandic.""Yes," I thought. "I will now drive all the way out to Elkhorn." So my intention was to shop local for some Christmas presents for my mom's side of the family. "Uff da," whispered my wallet. "Looks like you're thinking about decking your own halls." I maintained my focus while in the store, and only purchased things for other people, but I know that I will be driving out to Elkhorn again. This store is so charming and lovely. There are items that would be perfect gifts for people ages 0-infinity, all with a Scandinavian bent. There was fresh coffee, Kringle, and gingersnaps for guests. The store was staffed solely by Amy, who is the daughter of the store's original owner. Amy is a dream. Multiple times I witnessed her patiently help other customers find the item they wanted, or an approximation of such a thing. In the meantime, I was granted the ability to browse at my leisure, which is my preferred manner of shopping. If you haven't been to Little Scandinavia, you're missing out! At the very least, pick up a box of gingersnaps!

This is a cute little shops in downtown Elkhorn that sells many different items you wouldn't be able to find in many places in Omaha. Maybe you could find the food items in world market, but you don't get the helpfulness and friendliness of the ladies in this store! They have everything from kids stuff, books, jewelry, clothing, food, and even Christmas items! I stopped in last Thursday while waiting for my son in art in the garden class and left with a book, jelly, socks, ginger snaps, and peppermints!! This little store is pretty neat and you may find something there for gifts or just for yourself! You don't even need to have a connection to Scandinavia! By the way, their dishcloths are pretty awesome. They dry fully after using them, so so far, it doesn't smell as a regular sponge would. I would check this little store out if you're in the area! Or maybe do a trip to shop small business and add this one to your list!

This is a cute little shop in Old Downtown Elkhorn that carries mostly Scandinavian items. I thought there were many interesting items in the shop and the the owner is very friendly. I like to stop by here now and then to check out the new stuff that arrives. She not only has gifts, jewelry, cards, decorations, books, and clothing, but also Scandinavian foods. It's worth checking out.

This is the cutest little store. This is my first time visiting, but I'll definitely be back. The lady working there was so sweet and knowledgeable about all things Scandinavian. They have books, food (mostly candy and baked goods mixes), Christmas decor, home decor, and a T shirt wall. I wanted to buy so many tchotchkes, but settled on one: a cute little tea light holder with a spinning function.I'll try to return to this store once a season to see the new things that come in.

As new residents of Elkhorn with Swedish heritage, we were excited to explore the unique displays of this adorable shop! The business owner was very friendly and knowledgeable. I came away with some ginger snaps, knackebrod, and lingonberry jam. More importantly, my teen has an interest in her heritage as a result of our experience!

This is a charming Scandinavian store in the middle of a quaint small town atmosphere. We were there on November 29th and just a few doors down was a bar/eatery and there were people eating outside!!!Owners are very friendly and helpful and have an amazing stock of items for you to choose from. I believe it warrants a second visit as I think I missed LOTS of things as it is packed with Scandinavian treasures.Only wish they had rosette irons and krumkake bakers.

My first visit scored some wonderful Kringle for my family. The ladies were wonderful and welcoming. My granddaughter is to young yet to understand her heritage but I hope she will embrace it as her father and uncle have. My grandparents both immagrated from Denmark early 1900's and came through Ellis Island. My father told us of all their peril and how proud they were farming in Iowa. This store reminds me so of all the things my grandmother showed and taught me while growing up. I highly recommend you stop by and visit. They have it all from childrens books and toys to the wonderful iron hangings with the cute ball candles, clothing, flags and oh yes the Christmas room. While there pick up some Kringle..if I haven't been there first. I love it. My grandma made it for us. Its delivered fresh Tuesday or Wednesday each week. It's a quaint little shop in historic downtown Elkhorn. Its like visiting the old country as you walk the streets of the area. Open their door and walk in ..its visiting your family and freinds from the old country. Smiles abound as does the wonderful array of items to purchase and enjoy.
