What a wonderful gem in the middle of the Heartland. As a native New Yorker, I am so pleased to find a theater of this caliber that attracts world, renowned performers. The theater offers easy access, super comfortable seating, with extra legroom, that you don't find in older theaters. The building offers the added bonus of amazing acoustics and a very large stage Last year we had the privilege of seeing the Alvin Ailey dance theater and this time we were in town to hear one of the greatest pianist of our times, Yunchan Lim (the youngest gold medalist in the Van Cliburn piano competition). The pricing of tickets is unbelievably affordable at this venue. The very good seats we had were approximately $50 each and I noticed that this young man playing in Carnegie Hall in two weeks the tickets were over $500 each. While we bought ours with a seasonal package, individual tickets are readily available.Check out the Lied performing arts center for it excellent shows in an excellent venue.

This place is nicely set up. There really isn't a bad seat in the house, however, I kind of feel like the comfort of the seats is a little different - I remember when I have sat on the main floor always feeling very comfortable but up in the balcony - I felt a little squished. The biggest disappointment though is the way they do the set up for a drink either before or during intermission - only on the second level? and the lines were way too long. The people sitting next to me didn't come back in until between 10 and 15 minutes after the second act started, and I'm fairly sure it was due to waiting for the drinks they were holding.

This place is a fairly good performance venue. I first went here for new student orientation at UNL, and later with some friends to a performance of Avenue Q. I've also covered a number of speeches they had there for the school paper.I'd like to give it a higher rating, because it is a nice, clean, up-to-date venue. But there's also nothing that really sets it apart, ya know? It does its function perfectly, but the form's kinda generic. There's no history to it, and the seating capacity isn't that large. It's a nice venue, but it's also a standard venue. My best memory of the Lied was when were watching Avenue Q. For those who've seen that play, it was during the funny muppet sex scene. Like five seconds into it, this older woman gets up out of her seat, like four rows in front of us, with her very young child firmly in hand and angrily storms out of there. I couldn't help but laugh; did she not read what it was about???

What a wonderful venue. It is 25 years old and really doesn't show its age. A different variety of entertainment every year. A venue you can feel comfortable in a formalDress or in jeans.

We attended The Nut Cracker last year & the people who were to help people to their seats, sat behind us & talked & talked! How rude! We paid good money to watch & hear the play, just because they didn't have to pay, they shouldn't be allowed to ruin it for the customers!!!

Surprisingly nice venue. We were 2nd row "from the top" for Hamilton, but the view was still good. Concessions were good and the restroom line moved quickly even though it seemed a mile long. Big credit to the ushers keeping people moving, BUT - the real reason I'm writing a review is that the City of Lincoln offered valet parking, purchased in advance and you WANT to purchase in advance. I saw cars being directed away. I'm struggling with knee issues and was very concerned about a walk from the parking garage. Even my nieces and nephew were happy about it - BRAVO!

Im not a big musical fan cause I just don't get it. So I may not be the best judge of this particular genre. I go as my wife and her family are into them. With that being said Ive been to a fair share of productions in New York , Chicago and other cities. At the lied Ive seen comedians, musicals, concerts and other shows and my daughter had a dance recital deal here. The lied is by far the best indoor theater ive seen shows in. It has great acoustics and I just think its really nice inside, not ornate like many theaters but very cool. I was at a show last week and I noticed an escalator would have been nice for some folks who have trouble climbing a ton of stairs but are to proud to take the elevator.
