Lived there for about a year. Nice looking buildings and rooms. Sub par service. Cheap appliances that always broke. Dirty hallways they'd clean every 2 or 3 months. "Pet friendly" but only have waste containers behind 3 buildings. Key fobs on pool doors barely worked. Charged us almost $1000 to replace the carpets because we had dogs. The grounds workers and Jen in the office were always super nice and helpful, probably the only thing going for this complex. Only reason they could get 1 Star.

I was just reading through some comments on Lionsgate and some sister properties and wanted to forewarn some that are interested in this property. I was a tenant for an entire year & never again (2015-2016) at Lenox Village (Richdale owned)1) I got a letter explaining how we can't have candles in the apartment, only if you cut the tips off. This was the very first time I had ever been notified of this issue. Even at the time, there was nothing in their rental guide that had even mentioned that; with the exception of burning, which, is infact listed. I'm a huge candle lover and had received one from my mom that smelt AMAZING! They told me that I had to cut the wicks off, which, why would I go and ruin a wooden wick like that? As a tenant, I felt like they had absolutely no trust in me. The thing that shocked me the most was none of them had even been lit. I didn't and hadn't planned on burning them but just liked them as a decoration on my mantle. Anyways, I received TWO (not one but two) letters explaining why i'm not allowed to do so and would be evicted if I wouldn't remove them. So I put them all in a box anticipating burning them in the future. After doing a follow up, (they barged in without ANY notice) they made me completely remove them off the property because I wouldn't cut the tips. 2) I was a young college gal, living all alone. On multiple occasions I had the maintenance guys walking in on me. I'm talking various times when I was nude, whether, that be in the shower or bed. One of the guys knew I was in the shower and entered without a 24 hr notice. It couldn't have been any more obvious, ya know, since I had my door to the bathroom wideeee open. Also let me tell you, they are the queens and kings of not legally letting you know when they're going to enter. (At the time I had no idea it was illegal) I felt completely creeped out, belittled, and violated by these people. (Takes alot for me to feel that way)3) They were awful at cleaning the hallways too the apartments, to the point of embarrassment. There was a family who lived on first floor, right by the front security door... they would cook curry on the daily and the hallway would REAKED of it. Enough to make you want to gag in the morning or put a damper on good smelling clothes. 4) They're appliances were cheap, I constantly had issues with them. Maintenance seemed too always be 4 or 5 days late or after the matter to fix them. I had my dryer catch fire and they told me 'just to leave it until monday' Which leads me to my next point....5) Upon figuring out that my dryer caught fire (I was taking my dog out) I quickly discovered that EVERY SINGLE fire alarm in my apartment was out of batteries. I mentioned something to the maintenance guy about it & he checked them. Even leaving me with the response of 'Well, somebody is getting their ass chewed' 6) They also convinced me to buy a garage, which, is a great idea living in the midwest with hail. The garage never fit my truck like they said it would. None the less, the key pad never seemed too work on it. Countless time I had to call asking how to reset or what the password was... the staff was totally incompetent with helping me. Total waste of money. Also note, I can't tell you how many door dings I got from the place. Their parking spots are only made for smart car parking or that's atleast what it seems like. 7) When I decided too move out of this garbage place, corporate and the apartment staff decided to put up a fight with me. When I moved in, they had left the old carpet because I had a puppy. Which, was fine. I agreed. BUT THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $500 for new carpet on top of keeping my deposit. Technically, they can't do that. All I have to pay for is shampooing, which, I did. Twice. My mother, father, sister, and I spent an entire afternoon scrubbing down this place to maybe get our $150 back. But when they went to 'inspect' it... they made it sound like a bomb went off or something. We ended up paying $200 more than needed. 8) The apartment and $$ at the time was decent. Don't let the shitty staff & corporate distract you from a halfway decent unit. But don't expect to get your deposit money back from them.

While the local management staff is wonderful, if you have to deal with their "corporate people," you'll wish you had never signed a lease. They charged me $250 that was not in my lease and when I disputed it, they took it off my account but then decided, after nearly NINE years, just to not renew my lease. They also didn't like my handicapped accommodation requests, but they can't kick you out for that. However, after 8 years of on-time rent, they CAN decide just to not renew your lease (that is in every lease...either party can not renew the lease with notice). There is no real appeals process, you never get to see the people making life-altering decisions, and you never get to know the actual reasons. If you do move here, do EVERYTHING in writing. And don't make them mad, their feelings are easily hurt apparently. Also, do you know, you pay an "amenity fee" of $45 which gives you the most basic Spectrum in one room. It used to get you replacement light bulbs and a hot tub, but no more. In addition, my 87 year old friend there had to buy her own safety bars for the shower because she wasn't "officially" handicapped. Also, the pretty landscaping is going to be plain grass now because they won't pay to keep up the nice bushes, etc. The landscaping woman does a fabulous job and works her butt off, but you can create a pretty landscape without the stuff. Finally, you are obligated to pay for valet trash ($15 extra), but they don't come come often (like if there is a snow flurry) and often pass by when they do come. Finally, whatever you do, don't miss a piece of your dog's poop. That fine STARTS at $150. Good luck here.

I moved into a first floor unit and it was bitter cold...inside the apartment! I had to wear snow boots and a parka around the clock to keep from freezing. The apartment floor registered between 45 and 55 degrees even with the furnace on full blast. I took photos of the surface thermometer the second day I was there. The furnace ran continuously but I was always cold. I don't think the floor was insulated from the bitter cold below. I told them that but they didn't seem to care to do anything about it. The place was beat up looking and the dishwasher was very old and barely functional. They had started to paint the beat up old hallway outside of my apartment but then abandoned the job and just left if with two different colors of paint on the wall. It was still like that when I left 7 months later. I'm guessing maybe they did that so they could tell prospective tenants that it was being painted when it really wasn't. They also make you pay for cable TV that you don't want and extra fees for trash and water besides your utility bills. They are supposedly secure buildings but the locks were often non-functioning. Large packages are left in an unattended building where any tenant could take them. There were also some car break ins, but I guess that can happen anywhere. When I had to move out of town unexpectedly, they made me pay the entire rent for the remainder of my lease, which was 6 more months. It was either that or pay a large fine of around $750 on top of paying for my lease every month even though I was no longer in it. I can understand paying a penalty but to also have to pay for the entire lease is not the way most apartment complexes conduct business in my experience. They said I would get a refund if someone else leased the apartment. The problem was, they leased my apartment at least twice and then the tenants mysteriously never moved in. I believe they may have switched to another apartment in at least one case. That meant that my apartment was off the market for weeks during prime renting season and I had nothing to show for it. They seemed to me to be discouraging renters from taking my apartment. They priced it higher than other apartments that were exactly the same and also available until I called them on it. Then they were pricing a larger apartment that usually rented for more, at a lower price than mine. I called them on that too. My apartment eventually did get taken on the third or fourth try after a couple of months of waiting and aggravation. I got a lot of my money back, but please read the fine print carefully before signing a lease with them or, better yet, check out any of the other apartment complexes available. I easily could have been stuck paying for the whole thing.

My fiancé and I have lived at Lenox for about a year now & have nothing but great things to say! The grounds gals are super friendly, maintenance is always prompt with any issues- even something as small as a lightbulb! I love that they are pet friendly, as we have two dogs. We bought a house and unfortunately are moving but I would recommend Lenox to anyone who loves a nice apartment, close proximity to grocery stores & a dog park, and just a great over all place.
