Las Margaritas

We've been going to this place for years since it is close to us. The margaritas are good but the food is generally no better or worse than other Mexican restaurants in the area, especially when some of the other Mexican restaurants are owned by the same family. We'll be back whenever we want Mexican food because it's convenient not because it's the best.

Our first visit to Las Margaritas. There were two in our party. It was 6pm on a Friday there was no wait and the restaurant was about 1/2 full. Seated quickly and the guacamole cart came over straight away, we declined guacamole and perused the menu it was a very big menu. They had well over ten different types of margaritas but they don't make mojitos, as usual dealing with mint is too much work for the bartender. (Strike one) I ordered a Mazatlan Margarita. My wife just had water. Time to order dinner, I had #6 combo enchilada and burrito, my wife had #5 combo, enchilada, burrito and chicken tamale. Our dinner was brought to our table astonishingly fast, in 5-10 minutes, maybe less. The burritos and enchiladas were much on the small side. But, it's the tamale that caught our attention and not in a good way. As my wife was eating her tamale, she chuckled and said "look at this" The tamale was, essentially a lump of Masa, with a stripe of chicken running down the length. There was virtually no meat in the tamale. The rest of the food I would rate as a 4 out of 10. But, the tamale needed further investigation. Maybe the tamale served to us was a one time mistake. So, I ordered a tamale to take home with us. It was no mistake. At home I proceeded to weigh, measure and photograph it. I cut out a cross section near the center point. (See photo) Then I completely took the tamale apart. Separated the chicken and the masa. It turns out the Tamales at Las Margaritas are 96.5% masa and 3.5% chicken. (P. S. I'm a science teacher)So, be advised the food at Las Margaritas is not their strong point. HOWEVER, if you recall I ordered a Mazatlan Margarita. It was the BEST Margarita I've ever had. And, I lived in south Florida for 37 years, so that's saying something!I won't be coming back to Las Margaritas for their food, but I will be coming back for their drinks.

Best Mexican food in Lincoln!! The serving size was so huge, we will have 3 meals on this dinner! Oh and the Guacamole is fabulous!

I lived in Southern California for many, many years where Mexican Food is AMAZING! We moved to Nebraska a few years back, and when we arrived here, we started looking for Authentic Mexican food. We tried MANY Mexican restaurants in Lincoln & Omaha, and NONE OF THEM were any good (very bad)So we recently visited to Las Margaritas in Lincoln. This is the VERY BEST "Mexican Food" we have ever had here on Lincoln. It is amazing! The food, the atmosphere, the decor, the service, the drinks, and ESPECIALLY "REAL MEXICAN FOOD" just like in Southern California, and Mexico!!We have been back 4 times at Las Margaritas in one month - it is THAT GREAT! I recommend going here for your REAL MEXICAN FOOD here in Lincoln,Nebradka. You will not regret it. The prices are perfect, and then service is impeccable. Our Waitress was in authentic Costume clothing to remind you they have done their homework by seeing and tasting their brand of Mexican Food. Trust me - this is the VERY BEST!

Well. Took them about 5 minutes to realize we were at the front waiting to be seated. Ordered a combonation plate with a taco and some enchiladas. Idky I was expecting like a street taco with onions and cilantro. It was a fucking hard shell like drive through taco. My plate was mostly fluid. Like Mexican cafeteria food. Think casa Bonita but without the cliff divers. I guarantee you that Mexicans don't eat this. So it's weird that they call it authentic.

Not bad at all . Carne Asada burrito is pretty good ! Whatever sauce they use for it is good as well. I was kind of sketchy at first but good choice ! I'd come back not sure if I'd try anything else though lol !

One Star is too many!!! Sat down with a group of five, chips and salsa came out...I see something running around the salsa dish...yep It was this cockroach!! I had to ask for the manger twice, the second time I asked I mentioned the roach and was told the manger was busy, when she came out, she never apologized and didn't seemed surprised, she told me it was a critter and they come from everywhere. It was almost as if she didn't believe me, we hadn't even ordered so I didn't need anything g for free. Then she offered me a tour of their kitchen and told me how clean they where. Yep, we were good and took our business elsewhere. Eater beware!!!!

I gave this place half of one star I said something to them and they didn't want to take it off my bil or remake it

We have been going here for years and the food is always tasty. They live up to their name which amazing margaritas. Service is super fast and the vibes are very family friendly.

i went to las margaritas and all the servers were fantastic expect for david. he was rude and unprofessional to my friends and i but was very bubbly and interactive to every other table around us. will never be coming back. dont recommend.
