This woman owned business has been in the south Omaha area for approximately 4 to 5 years and recently opened its newest location at 132nd and center. I've been to this location before but it's been a while and we really enjoyed coming back. Came in on a Saturday afternoon when it's fairly typical to have live mariachi bands roving the restaurant. The restaurant is large, and has a fun fiesta of decor. We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated without reservations. It should be noted that they will take reservations during the week, but not on weekends. There are a number of large tables that can accommodate bigger groups.Complementary parking lot is available out front. However, it does get a little tight during their busy times. This is an interesting Mexican restaurant as it reminds me of something more typical of what you would find on the Yucatán peninsula. Shrimp and mixed ceviche dishes, a large variety of fish dishes, including whole fish that are very traditional for that part of Mexico. They also serve excellent salsa and guacamole, however, this is not the type of Mexican restaurant you can order dishes of queso, or some of the more traditional dishes that you would find at other, more Americanized restaurants. Our server, Christine V was super! We got there a little early in order to secure a larger table off to the side since our infant granddaughter is going to be joining us for a birthday celebration. This restaurant well they don't allow you to bring it outside cakes for dessert offer a variety of desserts that can be offered for special occasions. We were able to select a strawberry Tres Leche cake, which was just perfect for the occasion. We also enjoyed their margaritas, which were excellent and offered in the variety of enormous proportions! Everything that was ordered, was generous in quantity and delicious and quality that included a variety of fajitas and shrimp dishes. This location also offers seafood rolls that are prepared at a sushi counter. For those that are a little less brave there are a number of options that offer everything cooked and prepared just like you would find in any local sushi restaurant and as good. The one thing I also love about this restaurant is that it is immaculately clean. There's a dedicated crew that roams and never leaves anything unbussed for long. Everything appears to be wiped, sanitized, and swept in between every round of customers which is brisk. The manager came around and checked on us to ensure we have everything we need and offered us to go bags. Everything about this visit was very positive. Highly recommend this location as it's been voted one of the best of Omaha for 2023.

Traveled to Omaha from California with two colleagues to attend a conference. The group was craving seafood + Mexican. We found La Isla on Yelp. La Isla only had one review, but it didn't stop us from taking an Uber to satisfy our food adventure seeking cravings. This place is a MUST stop in and eat. After dining here, we were shocked to know it only had one review. All the food we ordered was cooked to order and savory. Not only was it finger licking tasty, the staff was very attentive and various servers came by our table to check on us. We ordered a seafood platter that had a variety of shellfish plated that looked grilled and seared. A buttery Cajun style seasoning/sauce covered the entire dish. Whole cloves of garlic scattered throughout the dish. There was also a generous portion of garlic bread positioned around the platter that we noshed on. It tasted even better dipped in the tantalizing buttery sauce. (Not friendly to us lactose intolerant peeps, so bring your Lactaid pills with you. I promise you it's worth it).Folks there was nothing pretty about eating here. I meant that as a compliment. The seafood platter is meant to be eaten with your hands and to be shared. We literally rolled up our sleeves to peel the shrimp, crab legs, mussels, octopus, and gigantic prawns that were piled onto a long rectangular platter that was almost as deep as the table. The restaurant is family owned by the nicest people. Since we were visiting for the first time, the server walked us around the menu and recommended a few dishes for us to try. We were pleased with our selection.Environment was clean with cute nautical themed decor. Oh, and they have a bar area too. Music was a bit loud, so expect to raise the volume of your voice when engaging in conversation. Stop by La Isla and check out the hype. Believe me, you will not be disappointed! *Serve large portion dishes *Pricing very reasonable *Variety of dishes to choose from on their menu*Friendly staff*Accept all major credit cards (you can pay your bill by scanning QR code on the tab)

I used to go to their location in South Sioux City when on business. Was super excited to see they had opened a location here. Everything is delicious and their margaritas are very generous. Service was very friendly and attentive. Its not fancy but it's by far the most authentic Mexican food I've had in Omaha. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

The food was great and we enjoyed getting to try some things that were new to us that we haven't come across at other restaurants before. We initially decided to come here because our daughter's name is Isla and we thought she would think it was cool to see her name when we explained to her what it was called but the food will definitely motivate us to come back. The service was hit or miss and definitely on the slower side, but we will definitely come back to try some other new dishes next time. I can't actually find it on pictures of the menu, but the dish we ordered was served in a pineapple and it was phenomenal!

Went on our usual Fri afternoon out. Parking was non-existent. All of 24th street is taken up by vehicles. Certainly not the S.O. when I was roaming in the late 50s/early 60s. BUT, I guess it's vibrant and thriving, so who am I to gripe. If you like blaring Spanish music, this is your place. If you like Shrimp, Fish or Octopus in every dish, this is your place. Couldn't even hear or understand server, who was very nice, BTW. I, personally, don't go for any kind of seafood. Yeah, I know, look up the menu before you go there, you moron. Sue got the only thing that was palatable to her....a Hamburger that STILL had some sauce that she couldn't take. Me? I can take anything hot so it didn't phase me, along with the green salsa and whatever else it was in the pre-meal. I got Avacado dip. To me? Not so good. Had cukes in it and I don't like cukes. Giant bowl with 3 chips. Good thing we still had some initial chips left. Clean place. Clean restrooms. Won't go back again, tho

This place was great Spanish and English friendly. The food is a bit pricey for what it is, nevertheless it did not disappoint though! I got the Salmon plate and it was cooked perfectly.

Service is 95% of time great. Great food. Amazing drinks. I get ceviche every time! The only thing I don't not like is that you have to prepay for carryout/preorder-I bet they have gotten stuck with a lot of food but I always picked mines up!!! Plenty of parking. Busy restaurant but they get you seated asap. Horchata is delishUpdate: Recently went in during the week for dinner and we asked the hostess for a booth. She refused. Then gave the booth to following couple-we were 4. Our waiter was helpful at first but took her sweet time cashing us out and even gave us someone else debit card receipt instead of the bill. Yea I will stick to carry out. The horchata that is usually spot on was GROSS. It was the last of it so it was just blended rice -my son refused to drink it. Waste
