Menu on truck says $5.50 with tax included yet cost $7. I should have paid more attention but while waiting I noticed that I was charged $1.50 more. When asked they said the system was still set to weekend prices (today is Tuesday) and there was nothing they could do. Maybe offer me a free drink or something to make up the close to 30% price hike.

This unfortunately is not up to the standards that I'm used to in the lacasa restaurants. Totally disappointed and feel like I got handed a slice of cardboard and a burnt sandwich. Contacted the proprietor and they were less then sympathetic. Too bad lacasa pissarro was miss represented.

La Casa is possibly "Omaha style" pizza at its finest. This means square pieces of pie on thin, slightly crispy crust. Well, if you read the history of the restaurant on the wall at their brick-and-mortar location on Leavenworth Street, La Casa claims this is Sicilian style pizza. Maybe it is, but for those who grew up in Omaha and have chomped down their fair share of pizza during travels across the land, we know there is no substitute for a couple good slices -- no, squares -- of La Casa's famous pizza. And now they've brought their comfort food to a curbside near you. I have to admit, of all the restaurants out there launching food trucks, I never expected La Casa to be one of them. But they did. And did it right. Their truck is shiny and new with a limited menu of favorites from their restaurants, from meatball subs to toasted ravioli to a few varieties of pizza, plus gelato for dessert.I stumbled upon them in the parking lot in Benson on a Wednesday night. Starving, I was. Pizza, I had to have. So for $5, I ordered two squares, one sausage and one four cheese. As I took my first bite, I was transported back to a dimly lit dining room in a house converted to a restaurant on Leavenworth street. A few bites later, it was all gone and I was sad and alone sitting on my living room couch. That's the one piece of advice I have -- order more than two squares. Definitely add some onion rings or toasted ravioli or else you'll still be hungry. I mean can you remember the last time you stopped eating after putting down just two squares of La Casa pizza? No, you chomped down half the pie, and you know it.

Perfect in every way. .Baked long enough that the crust had I slight char just the way I like it. It was ready quickly and the staff was great. If my post is not long enough just reread it a couple more times.

Downtown last night and I saw the beautiful sight in front of me. Was it from the DT's? nope. Was I hammered? Was it an apparition? Nope! It was a blast from the past. My favorite pizza in town was sitting in front of the Hollywood Candy store that some of us frequent. I couldn't believe it. I almost for got to order, was able to have the famous neopolitan style thin crust with both cheeses. If you wonder what that means; La Casa is notorious for using romano cheese. It is hand shredded in house and used extensively in the recipies. The creamy romano dressing for salads is better than anything else I have had. I digress. You can also get gelato on the truck and the salted caramel is as good as Ted and Wally's could be if they went that direction.I am aware this truck is not usually downtown, but in benson, so tracking it down might be worth it, but going to the main location may be easier.TL;DR: La Casa delivered to downtown! (usually dine in or carry out only).

I've caught the La Casa Pizza food truck a couple of times now when they've been at the Omaha Farmer's Market on Sunday morning at Aksarben Village. The truck itself is parked around back by Spirit World near the parking garage but the guys have a table in front of Liv Lounge where they sell slices of hamburger, pepperoni, cheese or breakfast pizza for about $3-4 each. It's a nice option to be able to grab something quick and inexpensive to tide you over if you don't have time for one the nearby breakfast buffets. Best when it's hot and fresh from the oven and hasn't been sitting in the warming container too long.

I'm a bit shocked that my first 5 star review on Yelp is going to a food truck, but my food was that good. I ordered the meatball sub and the toasted raviolis. YUM! The meatball wasn't huge, but basically the right size for the price. It came with two huge meatballs that were deliciously flavored, and the perfect amount of marinara sauce. The toasted raviolis were surprisingly very good. They were cooked perfectly. Again, I thought portion size was perfect considering the price paid ($12 for both). Would definitely recommend La Casa food truck if you are out and about and see it!

I grew up on La Casa Pizza. My family would take us to the Leavenworth location back in the 60's. I was really excited when La Casa West opened up on 84th St. (being a West Omaha boy) and have their number on my speed dial. But I was just a little hesitant on trying out their pizza truck. I didn't know if they were just warming up pizzas from one of their stores or not. So with a little anxiety I tried them out today. I have been following them on Facebook, and knew they were going to be on Atlas Shrugged Blvd from 11-1 today. They had a larger menu than I thought, even their world famous onion rings (I should have taken an order..) and settled on trying a slice of their Hamburger and a slice of four cheese pizzas. As soon as it was handed to me I could smell that distinctive La Casa smell, and as soon as I bit into the Hamburger Pizza, they same crust texture was there. I did see an oven in the truck which they warmed it up in, but couldn't didn't experience a 'left overs' pizza (even if I did, I love La Casa pizza for breakfast). They will do well in Benson at nights. I know I will be looking for them there when I'm out at Benson's great Music/Bar venues.

I expected a decent slice of pizza for myself and a meatball sub combo for my lady. What I got was a slice that tasted like it had been reheated 3 times. The cheese tasted like it came from a bag of mixed from a cheap grocery store. The sub was better tasting but the bread was nothing to brag about. The obviously frozen fries tasted better than the entire meal. What I learned last night is that La Casa's food truck is definitely not the best truck in Benson.
