Updated review - No a timid 2 stars. It's been going downhill slowly for the past 18 months. I hear a radio ad about their management and menu. I walk in and the dining area is an empty floor. A bunch of tables are now in the old pool table location, lit by 4 4' fluorescent lights. Got the new "improved menu" that is now one page and get this everything is $9.95. Meal came and both of us were unimpressed. I'm going to pass on this place. There are other places that are much better for Mexican food. Stopped in here tonight for dinner. Saw the promoted ad on Yelp and said "that's where the pool hall was"Pulled into parking lot and the parking lot and exterior lights were off. The only sign on was an LED open sign behind one of the doors. I pulled the door, and right in my face was the open sign. Gee, should have opened the other door. Walk inside and this is a big place, tables for 20-30 groups. 3 tables were taken and I decided to have dinner and sit at the bar. Definitely a Mexican flare to this place. The monstrous beer coolers were 80% filled with Mexican Beers and Sodas. The menu took me 20 minutes to review and so many choices. I settled on the #33 combo and a house margarita. After about 20 Minutes my 4 item combo came out. 1) Relleno - outstanding and done correctly2) enchilada- surprisingly good. Real beef not ground3) soft taco - I would have been content with 24) Bean Tostada - last to eat, a little soggy, but good. A 6 page menu. A bit overwhelming. So many things to try. I'll definitely be back to try more. In my opinion, they just need some signage outside and a bit more promotions

If you're in it for the food... DO NOT MISS.A good Mexican place will always have cops, firemen, and locals speaking in Spanish. La Cabaña had all three, with bonus additions: Awesome salsa (I'm a picky bastard when it comes to salsa), great staff, and real glass bottled Coke. (Yes, Mexican Coke is different.)Pro-tip: Ask you wait staff what THEY would have if they were going to have anything on the menu.)Pro-tip: There are items not on the menu... ask! Holy Hannah, the Molcajete Is good.

This place is awesome! Food (and drink!) portions were huge yet affordable for a university student. They also had a wide selection of food and drink choices. Our waiter was also very friendly. If you're here with friends or family, definitely try out the "Parrillada Cielo, mar, y Tierra". It comes with a variety of delicious grilled meat, seafood (bacon-wrapped shrimp!), rice, and beans and is guaranteed to fill everyone up.Overall, highly recommended for anyone!

This place is a hidden gem! I love the staff here. Service is hospitable and quick. The servers seem happy to be there, and treat you as a friend. The portions are huge. The food is full of flavor. This was my second time here and this time it was a Friday, so I ordered a margarita. Oh. My. God. They're huge. Not to mention, they're made fresh! I hate getting a margarita that tastes like the margarita mix it was made with. This margarita was full of fresh lime and orange juice. I loved it. I ended up sharing it with my boyfriend and we both felt prettttty good :) Highly recommend this place! It is nice to see a different menu than what is offered at most Mexican restaurants in town that are all owned by the same family. This menu is full of variety and flavor. Their happy hour is great and I hope to enjoy it soon.

We are at La Cabaña for lunch. Not crowded so we are receiving very personalized attention from Manny. He recommended the Molcajete De Mariscos. Packed with flavor, the shrimp are huge, the octopus is cooked just right, and it arrives in a rustic bowl still sizzling. Our other entre is a Chile Relleno Burrito. Breaded Chile pepper, not spicy, with plenty of cheese, refried beans, and rice all rolled inside. My only issue is the stem of the Chile pepper is left on, and this was not a good bite.Well worth the price. The ambiance is very casual. There is a bar with a large screen TV, and stage for entertainment. If you are looking for authentic hearty Mexican this is the place.

This is a huge space with a huge bar but just different. We may have hit it up on the wrong night. Got fajitas and margs. Not a fan of either.

As the previous reviewer, we opened the door and was confronted by a huge open sign. Almost hit my wife in the face and would have if I hadn't warned her. Came in and the place is huge but only 14-15 tables. Looks as if they are setting up live music--constructing a stage. We were the only two on a Friday night so the service prompt. Food was excellent but portions were HUGE. The plates were about 14 inches in diameter and brim full. I had the Camerones mojo de ajo and the wife had chile relleno with a chalupa. We both enjoyed our meals very much. Margaritas were tasty. Pandora was playing Spanish/Mexican music and the two tvs over the bar were tuned to kids channels (nick jr? and Panda bear II or III). Could have been tuned to something else in my opinion. Overall the service was great, the food was great and very plentiful (too plentiful), and the atmosphere was ok. We also agree further with the previous reviewer that they need to advertise better. Hope they stick around and make it. On a side note, we asked the waitress if this establishment had anything to do with the food trailer that used to sit out front. She said no, nothing in common with them. Update: Updated to 5 star. They moved their sign so you don't have to duck as you come in. Half price margarita's are very good too (Mon-Wed), waitresses say Thursday also. The other day the waitress said they were half-price only to 6:00. However, today a different waitress says all day. Update II: downgrading to 4 star. Turnover in staff and the music now is between 70-80 dB. Certainly not pleasant for easy communication. Changed menu. Still deciding if for better or worse.

This place was amazing!!!! Seafood Molcajete was fully loaded with great flavor. Was more than enough for 2 people. Ceviche was fresh tasting. The micheladas had the perfect spice to them. Definitely coming back. *Side note- I ordered flan but they were out and was told they make it in batches. Tells me they care to have it fresh. There have been many places I have been to and I get served refrigerated old flan and you can taste it.

My goodness, this was just bad all the way around. 8:00 on a Thursday night and the place is empty. Freight not, I've got a plan. Straight to the bar for a drink or 2 and a to go order. I ordered a coronorita first. My go to mexican mixed drink. Easily the worst I've ever had. They use a pre mixed magarita in a pitcher that taste horrendoues! 3 sips is all I could manage. So I pushed it to the side and ordered a draft Estrella Jalisco. It was fine, but I wondered if I'd still have to pay for the wack Coronorita.......hell to the yes! After the beer I was done drinking here. I ordered fajitas to go. Simple enough right? I mean fajitas a pretty simple IMO. Wrong! Got back to my room and what do you know, flavorless, lame fajitas with a mix of chicken and beef that taste identical. I couldn't be more dissapointed in this place. Lastly, the guy who tok my order seemsed really uniterested in actually serving me. He was moving as if I was inconvinicing him in some way. It wasn't close to closing and he WAS NOT BUSY. I'll be back to Lincoln in a couple of weeks but I'll be sure to avoid this place like the plague!
