Contacted Kitchens by Design to discuss options for our kitchen and bathrooms. Scott came to our house and met with us to go over what we were thinking. We then had a follow up in their showroom to look at mock ups of the ideas we had and view the products and discuss options. Scott is very professional and very thorough. We really appreciated the time and effort they put in to the proposal. Though we are not moving forward with our remodel at this time we definitely recommend contacting Kitchens By Design if you are considering something.

We got several bids on our kitchen. We went with KBD because we liked the people, their bid was the most comprehensive (the best we got from anyone else was an itemized list - KBD actually drew up some schematics and did some computer modeling, if I recall correctly), and it was mid-range-priced.The design process was great. We would go in, they would outline whatever options we were picking for the day in an easy-to-understand way, and we'd choose what we wanted - with some suggestions and tips from their designers. Generally after we chose some things they'd update our computer images, and it made it great to visualize. Now that the kitchen is finally done, everything looks great! Just as we imagined it, and almost identical to the computer images they had generated. There are a few little rough edges, but overall it's a million times better than it used to be.However, I only give them 2 stars because of what a chore the process was. First of all, I believe they quoted us 7-8 weeks, when in reality it took FIFTEEN WEEKS. Can you imagine being without your kitchen (which, by the way, we have to cross through to go almost anywhere in our house) for over 3 months?! It was torture. Doubling the estimated time ALONE should be worth a 2-star review, but there's more. The electrician they used (Christian was his name) is among the least reliable people I've ever interacted with. When his part came in the beginning, he was supposed to work Thursday and Friday and be done with his initial rough-in. He calls me on Friday and asks if he can work through the weekend, both Saturday and Sunday. How can he be two days behind on what was supposed to be a two-day job? Then when he was supposed to come at the end to finish up his stuff, we were told he'd be there Thursday and Friday again, and be done. We have security cameras on our house, and I saw him pull in Thursday at about 2PM, and leave at about 3:30. Then on Friday he didn't show up at all. Keep in mind that by this point we're several weeks over the estimated completion date - so wouldn't you think our build would be a priority? Then when he was supposedly done, the chandelier was about two feet off where it was supposed to be, and the oven vent hood didn't work at all, so he had to come back.Aside from the empty days and insanely long build time, the biggest issue was cleanliness. I'm almost certain that in our contract it said they would clean before they left every day (this didn't happen a single time - I was stuck vaccuuming the entire house almost every day if I didn't want splinters and sawdust everywhere), and it says to expect "white glove cleaning" at the end. That "white glove cleaning" left dust on almost every surface in the kitchen, and in every surrounding room. We're still Swiffering dust away. Now I need to reiterate that, as far as the build goes, we're pleased with the final result, and everyone we interacted with (except Christian the electrician) was a joy to work with. If you have no time frame, KBD is a great choice. But I can tell you going out to eat gets old after about the first week, so expect to hate it by week 15.Another small gripe is the only calendar/documentation we got was a physical binder. This would be MUCH better done electronically, and each day could be updated as they knew what would happen (plumber this day, cabinets this day, etc). And, of course, our binder's calendar didn't go past 12/31 - but of course our build went to the end of January, so we had zero clue what would be happening in the last few weeks. Also (sorry for the stream-of-consciousness review here - just thought of this), for some reason they had no plans to do any painting. It was just assumed that we would be hiring our own painters? I have no idea if that's standard practice or not, but it was a surprise to us, and then suddenly we had to find our own painters. They did give us a contact name, but when we reached out to whoever it was, we never heard back. Maybe it was Christian's brother. Hah.

We used KBD for a full kitchen remodel 5 years ago and finally saved up to do the sunroom. KBD may not be the least expensive contractor to work with but they are the best in our opinion and you get what you pay for. The design help when you have a project that you want done but you don't have a clue of the process or the vision of the end result is where they excel. Thank you to Carie, Doug Jr, and Christian for your efforts. We used B&D painting as well for the project and Brandon was fantastic to work with it. I can't believe what the skills of a professional painter can accomplish.

Kitchens by Design did a wonderful job on our kitchen remodel. Professional advice on the design, and then, a great group of workers who were courteous, great at their jobs, kept a clean workplace, and were great with my dog.

We looked at 3 or 4 other kitchen remodeling businesses over the last few years and always felt a little confused by the different bids and the different scope of the work being proposed, so we put off our job for a while. We finally decided to go with KBD this year, and during a pandemic, no less! KBD was not the lowest bidder, but we are extremely happy we selected them. Their design staff were great, and JT, the lead installer/carpenter on our job, was just great to work with. Very professional, has a real knack for getting the trim and other woodwork done just right, and cleaned up the job site every night! We really had very little dust in the rest of the house. We really like the way that KBD left a 3-ring binder at the job site with a day-by-day calendar of events. We were shocked, over and over again, how what was supposed to happen, happened, and on the appointed day! Friends who we told this to were astonished--seems to be kind of unheard of, that a big job like a complete kitchen gut job, wall removal, new windows, the works, gets done ON TIME!It's really kind of like living a dream. We have a beautiful new kitchen that is functional and seems like something right out of a magazine or TV show. We even enjoyed going to the warehouse to pick out our granite slab for our new island! We met the "stone guy" who is so passionate about beautiful natural stone. Just one professional after another. Can't say enough good things about the way our project went. This probably looks like a made-up review by a friend of the owner, but it's really not. We just like the work, and the people who did it, that much.

We were extremely happy and satisfied with the total remodel on both our kitchen and master bath. The kitchen was taken down to the studs and a weight-bearing wall was removed (all without a hitch). Rachael and Emily were very helpful in assisting us in the design process while JT and Greg were professional, organized, tidy and great at keeping us informed of their progress or any issues they had encountered. Would highly recommend.

I called on a Thursday to set up an appointment and my call wasn't returned until the next Monday. The person who checks the voicemail was out of the office on that Thursday and Friday. The next available Saturday appointment was 3 weeks later at 10 am, which I took. The owner/president of this firm was supposed to meet me at my house for a kitchen remodel consultation. I received a reminder letter from this firm about the Saturday 10 am appointment. No one from this firm showed up or called me at 10 am on Saturday. I called their office at 1010 am Saturday and left a message on the owner/president's voicemail. By 11 am the next Monday, I still had not received any call from anyone at this firm about this missed appointment. This firm doesn't seem to value potential customer's time. Their customer service is poor and I would NOT RECOMMEND this firm to anyone.

KBD owner Scott made some pretty lofty promises to us in the beginning and he and his team delivered on every one. The project went seamlessly with no hiccups or surprises. Our 40 year old kitchen was dark, dreary and not at all functional. Our design team of Rachael and Emily transformed it into to this bright, beautiful spot that we just love. They advised through every step, from the layout, to the products to the colors. Tony, our very talented carpenter was there everyday to make it happen and left the space clean each night when he left. Will definitely use them again on our next project.

This is the second total kitchen remodel we have done in the last 15 years in two different houses. This one was a complete remodel, back to the studs with a load bearing wall removal, plumbing and electrical rewiring and rerouting as well as new cabinets and replacement appliances in this 1986 kitchen. The design was fabulous, the workmanship was very professional and of the highest quality. The outcome was as planned and expected with no surprises.
