Kelly's Flower Shop

We stopped by this little flower shop and cafe to grab some lunch with my patents while we're visiting. There aren't a ton of lunch options in the small town of Creston Iowa, but if you're looking for the small town cafe vibe, then this is a great option.The space is pretty large and open and it does this well considering it's also a flower shop. The menu isn't too large, but they have some great options. They always have a soup of the day and some sort of special on the board. When we went I got the "Made-Right" hamburger with a side of cottage cheese and a bowl of the soup of the day, which happened to be potato. I enjoyed them both very much. The seasoning was perfect on the burger and they certainly didn't skimp with the meat. The potato soup was rich and thick with plenty of potatoes. I didn't try any, but they have quite the selection of homemade pies. Overall The staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home which in turn left me with a smile and a full belly and really enjoying my experience at Kelly's Flower Shop. I would definitely return.

The owner was very rude when I called to ask why our boutonnieres and corsage were made with artificial flowers as I was not made aware that they use them for Homecoming when I ordered them over the phone. She not only was very rude she got to the point of yelling at me and was very confrontational. I feel the quality of the flowers were okay. One set seemed to be a lot nicer than the other and one was not even the correct color that I had ordered. The owner was also rude to my husband when he picked the flowers up and tried to overcharge him by $30 until he asked about the pricing. She did ask what I wanted her to do about it and that it was too late to really do anything about it. I didn't know how to answer that beings that Homecoming was 2 hours away and I needed to have them for my kids and their dates. But I do feel that situation was not handled properly or professionally.

I called in my order from out of stare to have flowers sent to the hospital and they were beautiful, reasonably priced and very timely.

Went to this place the year after it opened in 2008 with my roommates. I've been going there ever since. The grilled cheese with veggies is amazing. The chips that come with almost every order are to die for. Mmm. The strawberry/raspberry lemonades are so good. The lattes are great. The pies and desserts, and brownies! OMG. Mouth watering. The bacon cheese burgers are surprisingly awesome as well. I'm personally not a fan of their chicken salad, but I know MANY who love it... So I know it's just me. The place is great! Always clean. So much to look at. The owner is wonderful and nice and the staff, though it's changed throughout the years, is still fantastic. I'm sad that I now live back in California, and I just want KELLY'S everyday! Love this place!

Confused about their hours. Post on door says they open at 8 am. Went in because door was unlocked yet no one available.

Stopped by to get some flowers in the greenhouse. Owner was talking smack about people with a customer. There was only myself, owner and the person she was talking to in the greenhouse. She could of at least asked if I needed help with something. Waited 15-20 minutes for her to greet me and ask me for help. Never once in the 20 minute span did she ask if i needed help or acknowledge I was there. I find it sad that this owner feels so confident that she didn't need my business. I will not be attempting to give her future business, since she doesn't need the business. I will take my business other places. This is not the first time this has happened not only to me but others. I know people don't want to complain about it, but the owner needs to be more friendly toward people she doesn't know. She needs to understand that she isn't the only place in town. If I could give negative stars i would.
