A true gem of a place to stay! If you are looking for a quiet, homey, and old fashioned place then you have found it. The place has a lot of old antiques throughout the 18 rooms available, so if you are into antiques then you will be in love with this place instantly. Also the staff are super sweet and make you feel right at home. Each room has a different theme assigned to it. I stayed in the Grapevine and the Safari rooms, which were both great. The breakfast consists of your typical continental like cereal, donuts, juice, coffee, and etc. The coffee is available pretty much around the clock and is awesome. The building has been there since the 1800's, but has been well kept up and restored beautifully! If you are looking for peaceful, then look no further!

Charming rural elegance! Just off the main square, with restaurants and shops within walking distance, one can stay in the heart of hometown America and relax. Hotel Josephine is furnished with beautiful antiques throughout. The first floor ceilings are tall (12 ft?) and are wall papered Victorian style. The upstairs rooms are done in wood paneling. Every room has multiple windows, antiques, a bath and a fridge. Suites are also available. I was concerned about airflow because of COVID-19 so the owner installed a screen on one of the windows so I could keep the window open all the time. How considerate! Staff are friendly, the young man at the front desk offered to bring in my luggage. He got my bike off the rack and brought it in, as well as my suitcase. The next AM when I headed out on my bike the owner was proactive and asked if I had bug spray. When I answered that I didn't, she gave me some to take on my ride at the local reservoir (Banner Creek) When I returned from my day's activities she was in the parlor and we hung out for an hour, just talking about life. The whole stay felt as if I was visiting relatives in the big, old family home. What a delight! Ya'll come on down and visit!

The place is old. It creaks and moans. That's part of the attraction! We stayed in the Carrie Nation Room aka Room 3 on the 2nd floor. The staff here, I believe a husband and wife, are WONDERFUL. They are very accommodating and ready to please. The rooms is small and dark, yet their is just something relaxing about it. Dont expect new and awesome, but expect clean and friendly!

This was a unique quaint spot in Holton that was supposed to be haunted. Well we didn't see anything odd, but we did see fantastic! Great service, fabulous food, comfy room! They let us bring our own bottle of wine to dinner with no corking fee. The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. We sat on the porch and drank a beverage and let me tell you it was just wonderful! Do check this place out!
