Jiffy Mart

Nice pitstop in a small town off the interstate. Although it's not much to look at, there is fresh food and a lot of friendly faces. Older, bearded gentlemen laughing and rousing each other in the corner booths while enjoying their lunch, the door opening over and over again while camouflaged hunters stop for a bite to eat. Really appreciated the kind service. Unlike gas stations down the interstate in the city, it was clear these people felt they had the time to genuinely greet me and make small talk. Great pace out here.

This was a small town gas station that we stopped at while driving down I-29. I picked up some local Elk beef jerky for a snack while paying for gas. As I was walking out to my car, one of the employees asked me if I forgot our toad. I turned around and looked at her with much confusion. She asked again, "Did you forget your toad?" I then looked at the ground in front of her and laughed. I said, "No. You can keep it." There was a tiny little toad hopping out of the convenient store. This was a great bathroom break just 1 mile from I-29.

We just live down the street from the jiffy mart and it's a great small town convenient store. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the staff is super friendly, they serve a hot lunch at a great price everyday and they always have fresh meats. It's not unusual to see locals drinking coffee at the couple of tables they have in the mornings or eating a nice lunch in the afternoon! It's also were a lot of our small town news and various functions are posted. We learned very quickly after moving to mondamin that the jiffy mart was the place to go and ask questions regarding anything going on in town!! We love our little store!

This is about what you would expect from a tiny market in a little town. Definitely seen better days and inside, selection seems to be aiming for both a grocery store of sorts and a convenience store and misses both. Want an energy drink? Well sure you do, who doesn't. Don't try here for one. This is a good spot if you need to hit a gas & go and maybe want to pick up some light snacks for the road or if you need a can of something to tide you over before you go shopping in the big town over the weekend. Bathrooms are not too great shakes but they did have some small booth seating, if you wanted that for whatever reason. Probably the epitome of the "ok" rating...staff, however, as noted, is very friendly.
