What's not to like about enjoying summer evenings with live jazz? With booths for ordering, and allowance for bringing your own, it's easy to have what you want. Music is good. Bring a blanket to sit on, at the very least. :)

Gotta be one of the coolest things in Omaha next to Big O! Bocce! Love this beautiful part of town and its many things to do when you're looking for something free to do! Just wish there was another parking ramp in each and every neighborhood! Here's to Omaha! Cheers!

It's always a lovely time at the park to enjoy the sights and sounds of Omaha during Jazz On The Green. If you want a good spot, get there early to claim some prime space. Otherwise plan on being cramped in the back or on the side with a not ideal view of the stage (still, if you're far away from the stage you can hear the music and have a conversations with your buds, which is nice). If you walk through the crowd, some people take JotG seriously. You'll see several blankets covering an area. On top, you'll find the people relaxing in their fancy camping chairs, sipping on wine and enjoying a fine tray of charcuterie that's beautifully laid out atop a chic mini table. Wow. I need to be friends with these people so I can join in on the fun. All I had was a borrowed folding chair and a mini cooler full of a couple Tecates and some Johnny Walker (got to keep it classy, folks). With so much to choose from at Midtown Crossing, you can have a meal beforehand at one of the many quality restaurants, enjoy the show and have a nightcap afterwards -- all without having to leave the area.Plus the show is free. Can't beat that. Jazz On The Green is just one more reason why Omaha is such a great place to live.

Every summer at Midtown Crossing on Thursdays nights in July- August...there are free jazz concerts! You bring your blanket, chairs, and whatever else you want, to just relax and enjoy the scene while listening to some tunes. It's very family friendly, dog friendly, everybody friendly really. Brix has a patio that overlooks Turner park, so if you don't want to bring anything and just want to show up, there is that option too.Venue opens at 5pm; concert starts at 7:30pm. I've always gotten there around 6-6:30pm and been fine to find enough space in the grass for a large group of friends. It's a great way to do something different and break up the week in the tiny period where Omaha has nice weather.

Jazz on the green is a great Omaha tradition. The green area is huge, it's free, and they have different musical options each week. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and wine. Or as others do, bring a table and have a buffet for family and friends. Great time and great environment!

Free good jazz - big band/traditional, blues, latin, smooth and even a little funk - you can't go wrong there! Check out the calendar for who is playing. The musicians they book are always top notch. If you want to come and hang with friends, plenty of room as the area is huge. A word of caution for the real music lovers, if you want to listen to the music without large groups talking around you, you need to be in the front by the stage. It is a social event so I don't want to dissuade those who want to visit with others, but the people around you get to talking and can be distracting if you really want to listen to the music. The people up front are usually there solely for the music and/or to dance.Parking is easy. There is a parking garage 1 block away (the first 3 hours are free) or a couple of businesses open their lots for free parking.I would have given it 5 stars, but tons of people and a bit loud knocks off one star for me. Can't beat the jazz music - that's always a 5!
