This was our first time here and it was before Bocelli at the CHI Health Center. Bocelli was fabulous and the food here was nearly as good.We had to have Chianti and it was a nice one. I had a ribeye and my date had the salmon. We both loved our dishes. The mushrooms side dish wasn't super flavorful, but it was serviceable.I liked the tradition of selecting steak knives and I, of course, selected the French bee knife.I had the cheesecake while Sue had the chocolate cake with raspberry on top. She completely loved it.I'll always remember this dinner on Feb 6 as I surprised Sue and gave her a gold Celtic heart necklace. I wasn't planning on giving her the necklace for some time, but the facts changed so I changed my mind.We will be back. Semo and J. Gilbert's are our two favorite places!

We had a business team holiday meal here and it was a huge success! Chelsea Machajewski, the Events Manager, helped me plan an amazing evening - she worked with me to stay within our budget and plan a delectable menu, while also being flexible as we had some last minute changes. The server, Hannah, was amazing with our group! Helpful, personable, and attentive without being intrusive. Her attention to detail and her proactive questions/notifications kept the party running smoothly while meeting all of the expectations that were in our service agreement. She rolled with the few changes that needed to be made without a hitch. We will absolutely be planning future events here based on our excellent experience. Well done!

Shout out to Gina! She was top notch ..and exceeded our service expectations....thank you Gina for your recommendations, and customizing my lobster dinner to my liking....It was an intimate vibe in a cozy booth...we were given a "special" anniversary card for complimentary champagne or a dessert to celebrate our 5th Anniversary. We had the most delicious raspberry jalapeño margarita there ever was...fresh and flavorful..they gave us complimentary fresh warm bread with their original and their pastrami flavored butter. I had a beautiful salad..with so much freshness lots of vegetables and greens...then a juicy delicious lobster ...served with wild mushrooms and scalloped cauliflower...it was "perfection" Dean had a big ribeye with truffle butter on top, wild mushrooms and green beans...We chose a chocolate velvet cake for dessert...

I came here during Restaurant Week and my birthday on a Sunday. I love their sunday happy hour, which as of now, is 1/2 priced bottles of wine, which hello have you ever had wine at a restaurant? prepare to pay 3x more than the bottle, so anyway...the server was SO sweet, and the whole staff. When we made the reservations we included it was my birthday and there was a special note already waiting for me at our table. The RW meal was excellent, and included dessert, apps/salad, and steak.I've never had a bad experience at J gilberts, and they continue to impress me with their attention to detail

Thanks Yelpers you did not disappoint me! I was staying in Omaha overnight on a work trip, I actually thought J Gilbert's was in my hotel but it's in the Marriott just a short brisk 4 min walk from Hilton. The walk was easy and fast this Florida lady did not freeze. I enjoyed Happy Hour AKA Finest Hour it's M-F 4-6:30 and Sunday all day! It's an amazing happy hour, the appetizers served were full sized. I was caught off guard so I filled up too fast. When I walked up the stairs toward the restaurant it was 4:04, I waited a few minutes because it looked like the restaurant had not opened yet. I double checked the time then tried the door. Yes it's open but you would not know it. I walked across the dining area (as the sign stated) to the hostess stand. It's dim light and has a wall fake fireplace for ambiance. I was greeted by very nice people and led just past the bar to a high top by the window. They must have known I would need a big table for all the food I wanted to order. I started with the Angels Envy smoked old fashioned. Very tasty and such a nice presentation. Giant cubes are a plus because I'm a sipper and they don't melt fast. I love onion rings so I had to try them, so good! Served with 3 very different sauces. There is something for everyone, I recommend sharing. Then I had the Shrimp Durango. At first I was not happy with it being served lukewarm. However after tasting, the large shrimp were perfectly cooked and had a lobster like texture. Had they been overcooked it may have ruined them. Get these and don't share ... it's only 6 shrimp lol Also comes with a nice portion of spinach & tomato for dipping your bread into. Sourdough & whipped butter for the table... yum! I really wanted prime rib but it's only served Fri-Sun while supplies last. So I was kind of bummed and not sure what I really wanted. I was going to get the prime rib sliders since it's on the HH menu but they didn't have them. I asked my server, Silvia (who was amazing BTW) about the sliders since now I'm full but I wanted some meat... being at a steakhouse. She recommended the wagyu burger. Wagyu burger is AMAZING! However I didn't eat it last night. I was really disappointed it was served on a cold pretzel bun. Who eats cold pretzels?? They need to be warm or the texture is just too chewy. I highly recommend if you order this ask for your bun to be toasted. I have no idea why it's served cold? Not enough to knock off a star but I may have sent that bun back to the kitchen if I was going to eat it. Instead I took it to my hotel and this AM warmed up it was still excellent. It's served with sweet potato fries, the skinny ones. I was not a fan, onion rings were much better. Tip, sign up for the email when you make a reservation. They sent me a coupon $15 off $30! SCORE!!

I'm a get straight to it... THE BEST MEAL THAT I'VE HAD ALL YEAR! By that I mean complete all around, every item, no misses. I went on halloween and I didn't know what to expect. I had a flight into the city and I was pretty hungry so on the flight I was looking up steakhouses in the area. I am a sucker for charred steak so when I seen that this was a wood fired steakhouse I was sold. In my uber ride to my hotel, I passed J Gilbert's and I was saddened that it was co-located with the Marriott hotel. I am VERY LEARY when it comes to hotel restaurants... my expectations are very low! Nonetheless I went to my hotel which was only a short walk away, checked in, and headed straight out to get food. The waitress sat me immediately as it was pretty dead. You know what, let me skip the fluff...THAT RIBEYE WAS PERFECTION!!!! PERFECTLY SEASONED, CHARRED, COOKED TO TEMPERATURE AND FLAVOR IN ABUNDANCE! EVERY SINGLE BITE! A great prime cut and VERY moderately priced. $50-60. I don't eat creamed corn but the waitress recommended it so I said sure why not? A HIT!!!! Not too sweet yet flavorful with bacon that added a savory to complement the sweetness.Au Gratin potatoes were elite! Broiled top added a crisp texture while moist layered potatoes were awaiting underneath. I even ordered dessert in the form of Carrot cake and not a fan of coconut as a rule but yes, I ate it all. I will say that the cake comes out cold from being refrigerated but I took it home and it was even better at room temperature. It contains nuts and layers of caramel in between with a mild buttercreme icing. From top to bottom... perfection! J. Gilbert's is proof that a great steak doesn't have to outrageously priced. My entire meal with tip was under $100. A fan I am!
