J Bruners Clarinda

I was in town for work and had a very nice dinner. The restaurant is in an older building with alot of character. Our waitress took our order immediately and was very nice. We started with an order of onion rings which were perfect I had a small filet and a baked potato. It came with a trip to the salad bar which was fresh and delicious. My steak was very good. Cooked perfect (medium rare) very nice place for a small town

I only have the opportunity to stop by for dinner maybe once a year. Food and service are always top notch. Had the KC strip last night. Absolute perfection.

When money is no object and you wanna impress your friends, go eat here if you ask ahead of time and tip ahead of time, you will get the finest food you ever had in your life.

I hate to do this-- I really do-- Bruners has always been one of my "go to" places in southwest Iowa for a special occasion, etc. Unfortunately, this time around it did disappoint. The steaks were not cooked to the right temperature and our waitress seemed overwhelmed/ scatter brained.

Our favorite place!!! Never disappointed. French onion soup AMAZING . 5 stars for sure!!!!!

Normally this restaurant is very good. However are last experience was a dramatic downturn from our past dining. Probably, hopefully, just likely due to staffing issues in the kitchen and a very busy night.We will try them again and how for a to return to their previous exceptional food preparations.

We love J Bruners in Clarinda!! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting! The food is the very best around! You have to order the onion rings! Customer service is very important to the owners and staff at J Bruners! Highly recommend!

The ambiance is very nice but go early!! The service was impeccable. Timely, friendly, but not intrusive. The onion rings and cheese bites were very tasty and highly recommend. Half order would have sufficed. Salad quite fresh and dressings very tasty! Would recommend adding more cucumbers, green peppers, onions to main bowl of salad since serving everyone. 5 people and we got 1 cucumber each. Steak was quite tasty. Prime rib was okay, not as good as Malvern. I have never seen Steak Kabobs come out in a bowl!! If not served on a skewer then probably should tell patrons when ordering. Bread was quite good. Unfortunately, my brother and Mom didn't care for glazed chicken. Better without glaze. The red blend wine was really nice!! Overall, very nice experience and would enjoy going back again! Thank you to entire staff! Good thing going in small town Iowa.

During our visit for the 4 day Glenn Miller Festival, we came here 3 times! The staff was welcoming and. Dry friendly..Michelle and Brayden, on our 1st visit, were quick to laugh and chat with us like we were regulars! Our dinner, the following evening was perfect..shrimp risotto and prime rib..done to perfection.. and oh so tasty! Our final visit, we were greeted by Brayden like old friends...we each had the Blue Cheese wedge salad with sirloin tips..WOW! The meat was so tender and flavorful, lettuce, dressing and fresh bacon bits,,perfect! The owner's 8 yr old son, came by several times to be sure we had all we needed..a delight! Highly recommend this restaurant! Don't miss it!
