Interiors Joan and Associates

I told the designer at Interiors by Joan that I wanted designs on a budget and that I'd be purchasing my own retro furniture secondhand and doing the work myself. I was happy to pay for her design services. She didn't listen to what I wanted. Every time we met, she tried to sell me furniture and very expensive goods. She gave me absolutely no DIY ideas, which was what I asked for.Each time we met, she was rushed and looked like she had just thrown together some fabrics and wallpaper rather than considering my wishes. She would also forget what she suggested in the previous meeting.The designer also tried to hustle me into buying Mary Kay products from her. It's just bad business to try to convince your design client to purchase goods for something other than design.I did have her reupholster a chair for me. The price was exorbitant ($2000 for a small armchair). She made a big deal of telling me that the fabric was so expensive that she wouldn't tell me the cost. This fabric was nothing special. She had my chair for MONTHS. I called to follow up on when she would deliver it several times to no avail. Then I called and said that I insisted on getting my chair back that day or I'd withdraw my order. Suddenly, the chair was done.I would NEVER recommend this company, and I'd never recommend the designer I worked with.

We purchased a couple items for our house at their store location from what we saw at the Street of Dreams 2016. There was a large pot and decorative tree that we wanted to order. The employee placed the order back in September 2016. We received no word before Christmas and inquired again. We were told that there was a delay. Then back in March 2017, I stopped into the store. The employee didn't recall what we ordered and then gave me another excuse as to why it wasn't in. We just stopped into the store one last time and of course they don't even know who the employee was that helped us. I refuse to spend anymore money at this business. They have completely blown us off. I know this is a higher end store, so maybe because we didn't pull up in a Mercedes or Lexus, we weren't considered worthy of their help. Either way, not again!
