This was such a nice dinner spot. I never would have known about it if my friend hadn't suggested it as it's super tucked away in an alley. I was expecting it to be tiny but it's actually a pretty big space. My ramen was amazing. The pork belly was perfect. It can be really hit or miss for me but it was crispy and amazing. The egg was good but wasn't my all time favorite, I like more of a seasoned egg. Everything else was great. The service was good we got everything quickly. I asked for a recommendation between two items and didn't get a great response, but not everyone is chatty so that's understandable. Overall good experience!

This location has unfortunately been a hit-or-miss experience for me. I've given it a few tries now, but each visit has been somewhat disappointing. I last visited this past weekend with a small group of friends. The restaurant was a little busy when we arrived but started clearing out as the night went on. Even so, it took quite a while for anyone to check on us after we were seated. When we finally ordered several items on the menu were unavailable (steamed buns, beef, sake), which was disappointing. Our server wasn't rude, but she didn't feel very welcoming either. She seemed rushed and didn't check in with the whole table before moving on. By the end of our meal, the place was nearly empty, but it still took quite a while to get our checks. The food itself was good, but it just didn't make up for the overall experience. I will continue to visit other Ika locations!

The food here is exactly as good as the Benson location but there's a lot more space. They still have the neon Japanese vibes, classic hip hop, and anime playing but it's just more comfortable. I had the Mary Jane which was great. My pork was just a bit dry and I wish it had a little more of that glaze. Otherwise, great server etc.

The spot is a bit hard to find. You'll need to walk down a sketchy alley to gain access... but once you enter, you're immediately hit with a sense of a trendy dragon ball Z sort of vibe. Service was definitely lacking that night; however, the food was pretty good. Just a bit on the salty side... if you're used to Ramen spots in the East and West Coast.

Its ika, it's always good, but at this point of the 3 locations in omaha i feel like this one is the best. The one in village point is in second place, with the one in benson being third. The staples are always good at all three locations, but the service and quality can be hit or miss at the benson location, feels like they're resting on their laurels, the village point location is always fast, but not necessarily great, but that's not the case with the downtown location. Ikasan is easily the winner for service, quality, and speed. Really hoping their speakeasy reopens soon!

Locating the place is the trick. It's in the alley behind Jackson, enter on 12th.I had my places for brussel sprouts but people kept telling me about IkaSan...they weren't wrong--good stuff! Perfect tenderness with crisp. A savory, slightly sweet sauce to light coat them. I could eat these for a full meal. The kimchi ramen is a good follow up. Spicy with the perfect ratio of broth to noodles. Crunch from kimchi, chunks of tender pork, and sweet yoke from added soft boiled eggs.I downed it all with a pop but they have full bar too.

It was ok. Service was really good, staff was friendly and very accommodating. The ramen was so-so. Noodle choice wasn't great, it was a good texture, but it didn't absorb much. The broth is overwhelming ginger-y, which isn't what I'm expecting from a tonkotsu ramen, I want a rich pork broth flavor. The chashu was not great, the outside part had an over cooked/chewy texture, and the fat didn't taste umami, just fatty and gelatinous. The mushrooms added a nice texture, but without a satisfying flavor, the texture doesn't do much. The hard boiled egg had a nice flavor, looked like century egg, hope that was what they were going for and that the egg wasn't just old. In conclusion, very so-so. Lack of tonkotsu flavor, noodles were average, chashu was disappointing. The cucumbers were spicy, had a pleasant kick, and they were crunchy. Impressed with the spice, and happy that they were crunchy and seemingly fresh

I have enjoyed IkaSan so much during the three or four visits here over the past two years. It's pretty cool that you enter in the alley and it's so comfortable inside. I am no expert at this cuisine, so the menu is extremely helpful by explaining what I am ordering with a dictionary! I ordered the Fuego Ramen. It was not as spicy as the first time I had it, but it was still so incredibly tasty. The broth is flavorful. The Ramen noodles are just right in terms of quantity. The rest of it just blends together so well. For the life of me, I cannot remember what my dining partner ordered, but I will let you see it with the picture. We also ordered fried brussels sprouts as an appetizer. They were a little overcooked, but still just fine. Two cocktails that were specialties that night started our meal just right. The service is always friendly and attentive here. We have brought in guests from out of town and they enjoyed it as well as it was something new to them.

I had never been to a designated ramen restaurant before Ika... it was my first time there but definitely not my last time back. Such a nice little hole in the wall! Ika is on the top of my list of trendy places to bring my out of town friends. Also had some time to kill before eating and it was the perfect location to walk around, shop, and build an appetite. There were so many choices on the menu! Also very customizable. You have GOT to try the benson bomb for an appetizer. Unbelievable. (Ate it all before I could take a picture, you just have to trust me). The miso ramen was a 7.5/10. Felt it might have needed a little more flavor added to it but that didn't stop me from eating the whole bowl haha. Food came out relatively quick and our server was helpful with the menu - me and my boyfriend had to look up what a lot of the words meant but it was fun to do that! Would recommend.

Great spot to satisfy your ramen cravings! There are a variety of ramen styles to choose from, with options to take away/add toppings. The appetizers/small plates are delicious as well! I will say service is a little hit or miss, but usually it is good. This is also more of a dim lit restaurant to give that Japanese night life/alley feel.
