Life is certainly relative, and this maxim applies as much to rest stops as it does to everything else. Having endured rest stops across this great land-- from porta potty hellholes in the desert southwest, to Rest stops that look more like a miniature strip mall, completely indoors and insulated from the weather, with a couple of fast food places and a gift shop-- I've seen them all. This little spot off I 29 actually had grass and vending machines and doors on the stalls. I know... You read that like it's a thing, but trust me it is.Look, I'm not staying the night here; just stopping to get a little bit of relief before our next opportunity to fill up the gas tank, figuratively and literally. Oh, and the kids always want to stop no matter how recently we just did. But as places to "drop off the kids at the pool" go, this one isn't bad.I always wonder what these places look like in the dead of winter, as we always passed through in the summer months. Then again, maybe it's best that I don't know.As others have said in other reviews: "I would totally deuce here again." Nuff said.

The bathroom was very clean which is a definite plus. I like that they put the names of the businesses responsible for cleaning and landscaping. Maybe they will do better since we all know who is getting paid to do the work. I was shocked at the pet area. I thought the wind had blown the pet sign because it was pointed towards the freeway where there is a small strip of maybe 3ft of grass between the car and truck parking. I thought my husband was joking around but then he pointed to another sign that designated this weird little grass strip as the pet area. Next to the car park is a huge grassy area no pets allowed. How strange. I guess People around here don't appreciate their pets.

While the landscaping is very nice, and the restrooms appear to be clean. The smell upon entering the restroom could knock you down. A healthy dose of Clorox & a good deodorizer would go a long way to making this facility a lot better place to be.

Well it's older and a hair run down, and super busy this Labor Day but this I-29 Rest Area did the Job. There was even nice folks from the local Legion handing out free snacks and drinks which was super nice.. I wish all vending machines just took credit cards already cause I spent 10 minutes trying to get my crisp 1 dollar bills in a soda machine to get the taste of an over prices Diet Coke in my mouth! Thats about it. Lots of shade and picnic tables. I enjoyed the stop.
