Easily five stars without the horrid parking situation. But that's UNO for you. The facilities are great, from the swimming pool to the racquetball and basketball courts to the treadmills, weights and rock climbing wall. HPER also offers yoga classes, personal trainers and team sports (usually for an extra fee). There's knowledgable staff on hand to help you with your every need, plus plenty of work-study students earning some cash while studying for their exams.Admission is free for students and a $50 monthly fee for alumni and faculty/staff, which isn't the best deal in town, but unlike many other gyms, it's actually easy to cancel your membership. Now back to parking: It's just terrible during the week. If you're not a student, you'll be forced to plug a 90-minute meter across campus and walk, park at Elmwood and walk, park in the not-so-close parking garage (for a fee) and walk, or simply walk to HPER from your house. However, HPER tenders to be not-too-busy on weekends and parking is free. That's been our best best so far.
