Small town and good food. There is nothing better! Pizza was great with ham chunks and graziano sausage. I would like the cheese a little more bubbly but I still thought it was a great pizza. The burger was nominated in 2024 for one of the best burgers in Iowa. I have had the 2024 best burger a week ago and this burger is better by far. This burger has great flavor, thick and cooked perfectly. The bun had a crisp to it and didn't get too mushy. Onions rings were good but not the best I have ever had. I would still order them again because they were crispy and not overly greasy. The ranch wasn't Hidden Valley. Service was great. Ambience is a nice, clean, small town bar.

If you find yourself in this very small Iowa town, you won't go hungry! Houston's is a quaint diner/pool hall/ bar that serves it up right. Very casual, come as you are. They have boothes, multiple pool tables several tv screens , sit down bar. Service is great and cheerful. The menu is extensive with tons of varied options! All our meals were well presented and enjoyed. Nothing fancy, just real good! Recommend.

Had lunch with the wife here recently. They have really good tenderloins! I enjoyed mine, nice small town establishment, where they know how it's done! Waitresses friendly and kind. Prices are good.

A friend recommended hitting this place as he said it was the best grilled pork tenderloin in the state. While that might be a slight overstatement it was pretty good. It wasn't over cooked and it was at least 1 inch thick. I ordered the onion rings which were pretty good. Service was fast and friendly. The ambiance is what I consider to be is the old style small town bar. It is nostalgic in decoration with 6 bar stools occupied with the locals imbibing. If you are looking for a peak into the past and a short country drive, give this place a whirl.

A great, locally owned restaurant/ bar. The staff is friendly and the food is solid American fare. You won't have to wonder if you'll like their "interpretation" of a hamburger or a "deconstructed" meal.Straightforward food at a good price. I hope they're atound for a LONG time.

Got there right after a party of "40" and waited an hour and a half with no food. The only update we got was that there was a big party. The place ended up closing and didn't get food. Do not recommend.
