Henry's Diner

Henry's Diner looks like it has been around for many years. Based on our experience, this place will be around for quite a while to come. There were still several patrons on a Monday even after the lunch hour. Many of them seemed to be regulars there. Service was friendly and efficient. The menu had a nice selection of appetizers, sandwiches, and dinners. There were also 4 daily specials -- I choose the Meatloaf dinner (good) with sides of Ham & Bean Soup (excellent) and American Fries (otherwise known as country potatoes -- also delicious). My wife had the Henry's Philly which had plenty of prime rib, peppers, cheese, and onions work a side of Onion Rings. Both were delicious! We had barely enough room to share a piece of Peach Pie. Double crusted with homemade whipped cream. It was a great finish to our meal.

Stopped over in Crescent IA last night after some errands last night. Sounds this little joint not to far north off the main left turn. Their honey rolls and butter are amazeballs! And who doesn't dig club crackers?! It's been a while!T snagged the ribeye, side of spaghetti and potato. Griddle cooked. Cooked to how he likes it. Said it wasn't bad. Pretty sure he dug the spaghetti over the ribeye because that went FAST and comments about the sauce were made! I grabbed the Henry's Club Sandwich. Next time I'll have to ask for no lettuce because there was a TON of lettuce on it. Side salad and onion rings for the two sides. Those onion rings reminded me a lot of my favorite burger joints' rings, super good and flaky. The salad... I too had a hair (black and curly)... I couldn't bring myself to finish it so kindly moved that to the side. I can do a lot of things, but hair mixed with creamy dressing doesn't do it for me. Of course we grabbed their strawberry rhubarb (Ts) and a lemon pie (I loooove lemon) to go and both were excellent! Honestly all and all, the staff were amazing, I just wasn't overly impressed with the food. But I'll give them a second chance for sure, and see if not getting a short and curly, bumps them up a star or so. Sweet little drive for sure though!

Nothing finer than to be at Henry's Diner for Sunday Breakfast. I had a BYO omelet - bacon, tomato, onion and Swiss cheese with raisin toast. Dad had biscuits and gravy. He brought home half of his and I brought home about a third of mine. Service is always welcoming and complete. Atmosphere is small down, down home

I had lunch recently, at Henry's Diner, with my husband and his two sisters. Their menu had a wide selection and at reasonable prices. The diner has a friendly atmosphere with great food and service. We will definitely be going back.

I was born and raised near Crescent, IA and I love coming to Henry's whenever I come home to visit. I can't tell you what all is good here because I always get the same thing -- their massive hot beef sandwich! A Midwest favorite and Henry's does it better than anyone else. One taste of the gravy and you know you've hit the mother load. My wife gets their chicken-fried steak which they bread themselves and she says it's the bomb as well. Our servers have always been kind, attentive, and diligent. They have large glasses which I enjoy and quickly get me refills before I run dry. Love this place!

I was traveling through on my solo (+my dog) road trip from Montana to North Carolina and popped off the interstate to grab a bite to eat that wasnt fried chicken from the gas station. these guys were the first to pop up on Google so I jumped off the road and swung by. at first I was worried I wouldnt get a seat because the parking lot was packed, but everyone must have driven their own car that night cause it was bustling but not nearly as crowded as I imagined it would be. they still gave me my own booth without me even asking! how did they know I've been cooped up in a car for 19 hours and needed a little wiggle room??? I felt bad at first and almost said I could sit at the bar top since I was just one person but they were still able to seat the 3-4 tops that were coming in at booths as well! The service was quick and my server was lovely. I got a sirloin with a salad fries and mushroom gravy. I dipped my fries in the gravy it was so good. Also the giant cup of gravy was only a $1.50 extra! all of the staff seemed to have a small town connection with each patron which really stood out to me. There's nothing like the kindness I felt just oozing out of that staff. Almost made me miss my waitressing days hahah. Hearing the FOH manager laughing with the people who clearly have been to this establishment hundreds of times, and the way he trusted his staff to do their jobs efficiently but stepping in if needed was so heartwarming. Man I would have killed for a manager like that once or twice.they asked about my travels after seeing my Montana ID and after telling my server I was traveling and just happened to land here cause I was hungry, she came back with one of their super cute staff "HENRYS DINER "nothin finer" tshirts that i was already admiring from the start. All this to say, if you need a nice warm and friendly place to hangout (or even work, like honestly, if I lived here I would) come here man. Just do it. Thanks y'all!

Service was fast and friendly.Restaurant atmosphere was interesting. Food was excellent. Chefs salad. You better come hungry. You will love it here.

Outstanding comfort food in Crescent, Iowa. Great breakfasts and sandwiches. Nice folks and the place is spacious and clean.Fast, courteous service.Fresh ingredients. A good solid and consistent choice.

Came after church for a Sunday lunch. Very disappointed. Waited over an hour after ordering an easy order(1 saled 1 sandwich). Then asked for it "to go"...after another 20 minutes...still no food. Wife is diabetic and we left.Won't be going back or will our party of several more. Seems like their regulars took priority as several came, ordered, got their food and left while we waited for our order.

Excellent food and service. Clean. Great amount of food and friendly environment. I drive a long way to eat this great diner food
