Helados Locos

Javi has done it again! This time with opening an ice cream shop in SW Omaha. Helados Locos is owned and operated by Javi of Javi's Tacos, who is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. As for his new adventure, Helados Locos boasts tons of unique and traditional flavors of ice cream, as well as his famous churros to fulfill your sweet tooth cravings! Think of every fruit flavor possible, plus your staples like vanilla, chocolate, cookies and cream etc., and then add some unique flavors like Cinnamon Toast Crunch - all which make this place one you cannot pass up. The location is quite spacious with multiple places to sit inside and the staff kept the line moving quickly while I was there. I expect this place to start getting busy as the weather warms up, so check it out for yourself soon!

Wow! People. Check this place out. There are so many flavor options and things to try! We lucked out walking across the parking lot on opening day. Weird Nebraska Kids like mine just had to get ice cream. I realized I missed lunch, so I was looking for something interesting and savory. I picked a traditional walking taco. So many good flavors. Filling. Adventurous but because...it has a GREAT texture. Crunch. Soft. All of the above. Ice creams scoops had topping options galore. Tons of flavors. Fruit and sorbet options. Nobody loses. Everybody wins. It was quiet at my table for fiveeee whole minutes. That means they stopped complaining and talking and we're eating in peace...happy for 5 minutes. Churro Flight is a delicious option for parents. Super hot AND cold. Crunchy AND soft. Just a dichotomy in life...like me. Staff were not only nice...they're Knowledgeable AND FUN. I couldn't make up my mind and they took their time helping me select what I couldn't confirm for myself. Pretty Good Deal, as well. Rewards program seems like a win...we love Javis and this is a great companion. Bright and Colorful inside, clean, lots of tables. Come warmer weather I'm gonna come snack and sit on the curb. Maybe even bring my kids, if they're lucky.

OMG THIS PLACE!!!! Brought my whole family here to experience the amazingness that is Helados Locos!!The amount of flavors available was overwhelming and so exciting!! There were so many nostalgic flavors of my favorite Mexican candies growing up! I beg that anyone who comes here ask to taste their homemade flavors!So many options and such a nice, patient staff to deal with such a large group ordering so many different items! Don't forget the churro flights!!I cannot wait to come back here again! Kids loved it here too!!

One star for ambience and one star for pleasant service. Unfortunately - and I hate to give a bad review to an ice cream shop - this is easily the worst ice cream that I've ever had. And the waffle cone was stale and flavorless. There are much better options in the Big O. Definitely not recommended.

The place was nice and clean but the service was slow and unfriendly. I got fresas con crema and instead i got strawberries with sour cream, it was so rancid I couldn't it eat, ended up throwing it away. The milkshake said it would come with whip cream and a cherry, it came with neither had to ask for it. The place is overpriced for the quality of food will not be coming here again. I'll stick with authentic Mexican Heladerías.

Great staff working here! They had a super long line but were very respectful and helpful. My daughter loved her Mangonata!!

Eyyyy yo. Look, the ice cream (and other treats) are wonderful. Plenty of selection for everyone. However, this one's for the crew. The people helping us were tremendously friendly and helpful. Give this spot a try and be creative with your order!

This was our first time at Helados and we're definitely coming back. This place is amazing.

I used to love this place, but for the price, it could be better. There's a great selection of ice cream and sorbets; I've never had any of their non-dessert options. Atmosphere is simple - painted walls with metal tables and chairs. It took 20 min from the time we walked in the door until we received our food: there was a group being served and one after them as we got in line; there was one table sat and eating. While watching them prepare a shake, a scoop fell onto the counter and was picked up and put into the shake cup. Ew. I'm not sure the point of wearing gloves when 1. Only one glove is worn, and 2. The bare hand is touching the rims of the containers, door handles, scoops, the fingers of the gloved hand, etc. Another disappointment was the lack of toppings. I asked for peanut butter, but it seemed watered down and didn't provide much of a "topping". For 4 people, the total was $35. I'll probably try it again if they have some sort of promo or coupon, but it may be a while.
