You all are fantastic. I need to wear a face mask and protect myself and my parents from the crud, and everyone there was taking great precautions against covid. Everyone had masks, keeping their distance appropriately, and the glasses were getting sanitized after someone tried on a pair.Plus, you've got a great selection of frames, and your staff was incredibly nice and helpful this morning. Thank you!

I brought in my own frames. A vintage pair of sunglass frames and a $400 pair of fabulous Betsy Johnson frames. They broke the Betsy Johnsons which has almost no wear on them. I picked out a new set of frames, ones that I absolutely didn't want, but was the only thing in the store that was even acceptable to me. The prescription was wrong. It was no better than my old glasses. While the guy, whose names I don't remember, was busy for literally 20 minutes mansplaining to me how glasses work and why the scrip was wrong, he broke the new frames. Seriously. He tried to make it MY fault that the scrip was wrong. Okay then. So now I had to wait even longer for glasses. But wait, they couldn't get those frames in the color I wanted. So yet again I had to settle for frames I didn't really want and a color that I didn't want. The revised script also is wrong but there is no way I will set foot in this place again. Now I will go somewhere else and have to pay out of pocket for the eye exam. I have been wearing glasses for 5 decades and have never experienced anything like this. Meanwhile, I can't see my computer screen ( I provided the distance to them so that my progressive tri focals would be correct), the TV screen is blurry and reading print is a literal pain. Being a grad student, reading and computer work is kind of important. NEVER EVER will I set foot in this joke of an eyeglass company again.

Nice new clean building with higher tech equipment. No more puff of air in the eye. I am giving them a much lower reading because of their reminder system. They sent me an email, called three times and sent a text message. All in three days. When. I got there I expressed my disapproval of their reminder system and I got two answers. 1) we cant do anything about it. Or 2) It got you here on time, didn't it. For that last comment. They get a 2 star rating and have lost a customer for life. There are dozens of providers like this one. I can and will go elsewhere.

I had requested an appointment time online via their website and received a confirmation saying that they would get ahold of me by either phone or email. I waited and waited until I decided to give them a call to see if I had done everything right to request a time. The lady who answered the phone was extremely rude to me. She told me that I didn't make a time request online and went on to say that requesting a time online isn't the way to make an appointment. She was unclear, short, bothered by my concern and didn't want to help me whatsoever. I will not be making an appointment or buying glasses from Heartland Optical. Their customer services is terrible.

Heartland Optical won my heart days before my appointment by sending very polite reminder emails and texts. Once I arrived, the entire staff was very pleasant and welcoming. During the exam, each step was explained and there were no surprise bursts of air or flashes of light. They didn't even have to dilate my eyes (thanks, eye care technology advancement!). To seal the deal, they didn't try to hard-sell me on ordering contacts through their office. I already had an order pending elsewhere, but (considering how excellent their other services have been) I will probably order through Heartland next time. An easy recommend.

Bragging moment: I have Lincoln's Best Eye Doctor and Clinic! After a less than stellar experience this summer elsewhere I was on the hunt for a new doctor; and after asking for recommendations, doing research, and checking with my insurance, I decided to go to Heartland Optical. I had to reschedule my first appointment and they were able to work with my crazy schedule and get me rescheduled for the day after my original appointment. We had a miscommunication so I ended up being a little bit late to my appointment, but never felt like I was being an inconvenience. During the standard round of checks and test, every single test was explained to me. Every single one. I've been tested with similar machines at my old clinic and was never told what it was exactly testing. (And I got to see the inside of my eye through the standard procedure, whereas it was always an additional charge at the old clinic; and even the picture was explained to me!) When I met my wonderful doctor, Dr. Gibson, she asked about my life before she even started to ask about my eyes. I was definitely not just a case file. And then she double and triple checked all of the measurements to make sure that I would get the correct strength in my contacts. And then she took me personally to get trial contacts and then checked the fit right then and there. Since I've had so many problems, she gave me a different brand in each eye to see what works best to get to the best fit as soon as possible. I was given the option to either come back in a few days to check in or I could simply call, but it was expected that we'd be in communication within the week. When I called this afternoon, I picked the trial contact I liked better to be ordered again as a trial for both eyes. When those arrive at the clinic, I'll go back to see the doctor to check to make sure that everything is working as it should. I was blown away with the amazing service and care that I've received and can't believe I suffered through worse for as long as I did! I'd highly recommend Heartland Optical to everyone in Lincoln!
