Fantastic museum! So much more to see here than I initially imagined. So many items to look at and learn about Iowa's history. The welcome center has a lot of information and wonderful gifts to buy. They had a farmers market going on while we were there as well with local fruits, vegetables and other items.

Really neat place. I especially enjoyed the one-room school house. Wonderful antiques and exhibits to look at. I bought some cherry juice made locally. After I was given a sample I couldn't resist! Some exhibit halls are air conditioned and there's plenty of picnic tables and benches placed around the grounds. A beautiful hill and easy trails. Even a couple of Geocaches to find!Gift shop is super nice. Staff are super nice. One woman even went outside with me and helped me find a Geocache. Wonderful stop. Great for all ages. There's a really cute train area outside for the kiddos and plenty of photo ops!

Although we arrived after closing, a staff member encouraged us to have a look around. It had been a few years since our last visit, but there's so much to see. An excellent daytrip!

This is actually one of Iowa's Welcome Centers off of Hwy 30 (Lincoln Highway). The Main Building is filled with your usual maps and brochures and novelty items in a nice cabin/building. It makes you feel welcomed into an Iowa/Midwestern atmosphere. I ran into a nice, friendly lady behind the counter who could answer all my questions there. It is also the Harrison County Museum, which has an Old School House, General Store and Log Cabin, and general Loess Hills and Lincoln Highway information.I wish I had more time here, but it was at the end of the day and was ready to close. I had driven past it several times before deciding to stop in today. Next time through I will mark extra time to spend here.

This stop offered a wide realm of surprises. The staff was friendly and very helpful on our inquiries of which national scenic bypass to take north to Sioux City. Clean bathrooms! Wireless available! We drove the Loess Hills National Bypass with the assistance of a simple to use magazine outlining ideal attractions and where to stop for a scenic overview. Didn't spend time in the museum but the confidence we gained through this stop made it every bit of five stars.
