The quality of their food has declined markedly over the past couple of years. I last ordered from them about a year ago, and got a terrible case of the tummy gripes. I figured maybe it was something I'd eaten earlier, so i let it go. Went in there the other day decided to give them another chance and the store smelled like rotting food, so I left. If you like your tummy, I suggest you pass this up.

Oh the high hopes I had... Dashed. First off, it's a restaurant AND grocery store (sweet!). You can get Japanese eggplant, packages of almond cookies, sheets of seaweed, a crazy assortment of noodles and meats that I can't recognize. BUT, the dishes we got for take out, were not good. In fact, they were pretty bad. Even the rice was a bit mushy (really? I know how to screw up rice, I don't need to pay for that). The powers of deduction tell me that maybe we ordered the wrong thing. There were a number of peeps in there shopping and eating, I think they knew something we didn't. Or they have crap taste.

Happy Family has the best Chinese food in the Benson area . They offer free delivery and the prices are very reasonable. I would not suggest dining in, it's a grocery too so not much for atmosphere. Highly recommend the Singapore style Mee Fun, broad noodles in a spicy curry like sauce with shrimp, pork & veggies. They always do a good job with the mainstays too - broccoli beef, lemon chicken, lo mein, etc. What I like best is that the veggies are always cooked tender crisp, everything tastes so fresh. I'm giving it 4 stars because from time to time we suspect that they sub in some unexperienced cooks and we have gotten some less than super dinners. Over all though, the food has been good quality for the money. We've been eating there for 5 years so that must count for something!

I was very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I'd been driving since 6 AM and collapsed in our motel, way too tired to go somewhere. My mother and I ordered two of the specials -- "Four Seasons" -- beef, chicken, roast pork, and shrimp with broccoli and onions and "Dragon and Phoenix", an old school combo of stir-fried jumbo shrimp and General Tso's chicken (seemed kind of like sweet and sour chicken, I dunno; I'd never had the GT chicken before.) The portions were lavish and the sauces were relatively spicy. Thank you, Happy Family, for a relaxing and effortless dinner after a long day.

First of all, the fighting That You can hear from the kitchen makes me think they are NOT a happy family. Every time I've been in, they are always fighting. Loud! But the chicken fried rice and Rangoon is spot on. I recommend it, but get pick up so you don't have to eat in awkward environment!

The food is excellent, but the prices are questionable. One thing I really don't like is they charge 2 dollars for delivery and the sign on there door says the delivery is free. Also, the restaurant isn't very clean. The last time I went in will be the last time I order food from them

Terriable experience followed by food poisoning the following day. I usually like slightly dirty places for the quality of good but this one I will not return to.

They advertise that they accept online orders yet you have to call in payment. Food was pretty subpar to boot but the really frustrating part is the attitude. When you call for anything you are greated by a screaming woman who is extremely rude and condescending. Takes a ridiculously long time to receive anything.

I decided to try this place because I have been running low on places to try. Boy was I sorry. I got their kung pao beef, and it had to be the worst chinese food I have ever had. While everything was fresh and tasted ok, it was not chinese. It tasted like brown gravy with a little sesame oil. By the time I was done I had a slight upset stomach, not a good sign. Even now, 2 hours later I still feel a bit ill.The restaurant in general looks run down and the booths are all torn up. I will not be going back here and suggest others look elsewhere. I did post a photo, the best my little tablet could take.On a side note, they have no bicycle parking or anything to really lock one up to. But too much car parking. Not what I like to see.
