We had a wonderful experience with GV Kustom Kitchens for our kitchen remodel. They were incredibly helpful through the entire project, and were accommodating to aspects of the project we wanted to do ourselves. While communication mishaps and errors did occur on the project (as with every house project), Kustom Kitchens was incredibly professional in addressing every issue to ensure our project was done right and prompt. Would definitely recommend checking them out if you are considering a kitchen remodel!

I hired gvKustom Kitchens in June 2018 to do a remodel of my kitchen after researching the company and talking to them. There were issues from the moment I ordered the cabinets and after I paid for them. gvKustom Kitchens doesn't place the order unless you pay for taxable items. This is where my troubles began. I have been dismissed and put off constantly on a remodel that lasted a long nine months. Below are some examples:(1) Chip (Job Supervisor) called one day at 9am & said he would be out shortly to measure. He was 90 minutes late, measured & told me he had to be at another appointment in less than 15 minutes. I told him I had questions & he left anyway without answering them.(2) He was here because he miss-measured my countertop & had to cut it back. I tried to approach him on some other items about the remodel. His phone rang & he immediately interrupted our conversation to take the call. That happened a lot. I finally sat down & wrote out what needed to be taken care of & handed him the list. I ran some of my errands & when I returned Chip pulled out the list & we finally talked. I tried to help him by doing half the list & he would do the other half after he had originally agreed to complete the list. A couple days later he called & wanted me to get the other items instead of him completing his portion of the list. Before I hired them they promised to help me out such as picking out cabinets, appliances, etc.(3) I had to wait up to two weeks with nothing being done on the remodel. I understand they have other customers but felt my remodel was being pushed back.(4) Chip didn't even bother to check on the progress of my remodel for well over a month. I wasn't happy with the wall & finally forced him to come to check it out. He thought it was a different wall. He came out & looked at the wall & told me the cabinets weren't level so therefore my backsplash was put in to compensate for uneven cabinets. The backsplash & cabinets had to be redone causing further delays in timing. This could have been rectified earlier had Chip or another supervisor come out to perform a timely review. As of this day there has been no one to check on the progress until final walk thru which didn't happen until early-April without a project manager.Additionally, I have experienced numerous communication issues with management. There have also been problems with communication between management & their workers. Here are some examples:(1) I had to call & ask for documents & certificates for insurance and products only to have to remind them at least three times on each item. Every time, I was told they were busy or out of the office.(2) The ceiling was not parallel with the floor causing the crown molding to not fit. This resulted in uneven cabinets to compensate. They didn't have a solution, so I sat waiting until they could think what to do. It took them about two weeks to come up with a solution.(3) They installed my window incorrectly. I wanted a double-hung window. Chip called & wanted me to go look at some windows. After looking, I followed-up with Chip & told him I decided on the slider with the grilles between the glass. His men installed it as a double-hung window. They weren't notified from Chip that it was a slider. The crew came back on Monday to rectify the situation.(4)I called after not hearing from them for another two weeks. I told Chip we have been at this remodel for five months. He was surprised it was that long & said that the remodel was completed. The back splash wasn't completed & I had a warped door that needed to be replaced which was a carryover I from the last time I talked to him. Chip telling me he was finished really tried my patience and I spoke up. Since then, he has not taken my calls, responded to my text messages or tried to contact me. He basically pushed me off to other workers to do his job.(5) Since then my grout has cracked, a piece of my flooring tile has protruded up, my crown molding to ceiling has a long gap in it & they gouged my wall by pushing my refrigerator against it. (6) I felt my project was not a high priority to them. Meanwhile, I have received at least seven phone calls from different people including the accounting department requesting payment while work either wasn't completed or done incorrectly. Holding back payment was my only recourse for making sure the job was done & done correctly as they were told. The only bright spot was the work crew and some of the sub-contractors. They were very friendly and professional. They actually knew what they were doing if given the correct information. At the end, I connected up with Bridget & she took care of my remodel. She actually cared & got things moving. Received Great Customer Service from her! A remodel that should have taken 2-3 months lasted nine months due to mistakes & poor communication. Granted, they paid for their mistakes. These are just some of my experiences with the company.

It has been an epic horror story, signed a contract with GV Kustom Kitchens in Nov of 2019 to restore my basement after it flooded, it is now early Aug of 2020 and I finally had to fire them. The framing is terrible, corners are closer to a 70 degree angle than they are a 90 degree angle. The drywall finish is terrible, particularly at the corners. They were supposed to install vapor barrier on the exterior walls, which they did not, and now the drywall is up and painted. It took them over 6 attempts to hang a sliding glass door so that it would actually close, each time that I pointed out that it would still not close they acted as though I was the problem. They would then bill me for each attempt to repair.Don't even get me started on the pocket door that will only close a quarter of the way. They mounted the shower/tub an inch off the ground, hanging by the studs, rather than cut an abandoned PVC drain line down and recapping it so that the assembly could sit on the floor as intended. How long do will that hold up with a 200 pound man and 40 gallons of water in the tub?Trust me, if you enjoy never ending projects, paying a contractor to do a terrible job, and then paying them to come back multiple times, to do it wrong yet again, GV Kustom Kitchens is a perfect choice for you.

GV Kustom was contracted by me to remodel our kitchen and stairs. I hired GVK in September of 2018 - Chip (PM) noted that the full completion would be 4-5 weeks. It resulted in 8.5 weeks until 'completion' and I'm still trying to get some items fixed. The first concern was over our first invoice where I questioned the hours billed. The contract notes $65/hour. When I receive my mill it was for 1.23 hrs for 80.17 - the accounts payable woman noted that their billing system bills out 1.233385. Their follow up and willingness to provide information was subpar until I was assigned a "handler". The workman ship was questionable on several items - they installed a microwave above my stove that moved (safety hazard) that they did ultimately fix. They 'forgot' to put trim on the lower cabinets, etc. Bridgett at lease responded to my concerns most of the time. I did talk to the Owner at one point noting I was not paying the last invoice $1517.87 until the project was completed. He also noted that I had been an outstanding customer as I paid in a timely manner. I can provide invoices and dates of payment. Nick noted he understood but felt there would be 'no way of making me happy' The bid for the flooring installation was increased from $3400.00 to $4900.00 with GVK noting it was due to the flooring I chose. The bamboo flooring had been in my home since October and never mentioned. My research and conversations with additional contractors implied that most contractors bid $100 per stair and that the original bid provided by GVK did not include them. I repeatedly reached out to GVK regarding the 'punch list' and amiss items. We had four walk throughs: 1/25 2/15 5/3 and lastly 7/18. In January the stairs that GVK's subcontractor placed in my home were subpar at best. This was confirmed by Bridgett, Ron, and even Chip upon my last walk through 7/18. At first I was told to go through the subcontractor directly for correction. I disputed as I paid GVK NOT the subcontractor nor did I hire them and the shoddy job they did I did not want them back in my home.

gv Kustom Kitchens measured my kitchen and provided a free design and estimate. Their team handled the demo of the old kitchen, and oversaw the flooring and installed the new Starmark cabinets. My new kitchen is beautiful. Chip did a great job communicating with us. I saw the other review, and it is nothing like my experience. I recommend gv Kustom Kitchens to all my friends.
