This place is so underwhelming it's crazy. The salmon is I bet not even sushi grade, you can tell it's not fresh. Almost a shame to call this place a "poke" restaurant... if you eat here just eat COOKED food.. a shame and waste of money

Finally gave this place a try today for lunch and so far pretty impressed. I went with the "build your own" poke bowl with Bulgogi steak and spicy crab, lots of different choices when building the bowl from protein, veg, salad, sauces and crunch. Everything was fresh and very tasty, also nice size portions. I gave a 3 star review for now because I really want to go back and try a seafood poke, I think that will be the test. Will update later...

You want poke in Lincoln? Then this the place you need to visit. Granted that your options in this college town for poke is not extensive, Grey Whale hits the sweet spot for your craving. You have a variety of options to create your own bowl. You can even get a Teriyaki or Bulgogi bowl if you're not feeling adventurous. Spicy Ahi is one of my "Go-to" choices, but I also recommend the Hawaiian Ahi.

I recently went to Grey Whale Poke bowl. I haven't gone there in about a couple of months and was excited because it has always been so good for me. My most recent experience was the worst. It was about 7pm when I showed up and they were out of Shrimp, spicy tuna, and regular tuna. It's 7pm, you close in three hours and you don't even have a full menu. The service was terrible. They were rude and made rude comments as I expressed my frustration that they were out of food. Once we got our food and brought it home, the ingredients were not fresh. It smelled as if they were sitting out for the whole day. I took one bite, and ended up throwing it away. I won't be going back here for a long time, maybe if ever again. Not impressed at all. Extremely disappointed.

There are two Grey Whale locations in downtown Lincoln. I visited the one closer to the performing arts center, which is their poke outlet and is a lot more casual. I like poke as it can be extremely keto friendly as long as I'm not having the rice or the wrap.So I chose a salad base with cucumbers, adding shrimp, spicy crab, noodled zucchini, seaweed salad, and masago, then topped with the spicy mayo.Taking it to go with a pair of chopsticks, I managed to avoid wearing any of it. Maybe a lot too much mayo sauce on it, but it was delicious and I enjoyed it.[Review 11376 overall, 1153 of 2019.]

Potential. That's the only word I can think of to describe this place. It does everything to a mediocre degree but with just a few easy fixes I could easily see myself rating this place 5 stars. What I got: - Rice bowl with spicy salmon and bulgogi steak ($10)The combination of the sticky rice and the sauces were really heavy, making it difficult to finish the bowl. The taste was average, but the quantity of food for the price was more than reasonable -- a place for college students. The service was fine but the menu was extremely difficult to read. The red text and the small font were the biggest problems, it was easier to look at the toppings at the counter than decipher the menu. Overall, it was a pretty average meal and experience.

Many options to select your bowl: Signature or build your own. Bubble Tea and other beverages, too. My #2 Hawaiian Ahi Tuna Poke bowl was filled with umami each bite. I probably could have eaten two bowls. I am hooked.

Myself and my girlfriend both asked for eel sauce on our bowls, and we got two different sauces. The fish at the serving table smells spoiled, and the avocado served was brown. When the matcha latte was made, the cup where the tea was boiled was brown. We thought they were making coffee. Then the lid was touched all over with bare hands without gloves by our server.
