Love to try the. Stupid bread samples. They have li carb, cinnamon, and a host of flavors. Their veggie sandwich is a favorite. Recently, with new ownership, it appears to have a more stable staff. It's a great place for lunch or just to pop in for. Snack.

Love both locations. I'm fairly sure you can't buy 1/2 a loaf (if so I missed it), but I think it would be a great offering to have that. Haven't had a bad bread here, but always curious about the different varieties but not wanting to get a full loaf.

Your neighborhood bread store! This is a great little shop in Dundee offering fresh bread for the most part, but also soup and sandwiches at lunch, a smattering of cookies and other small treats, and some fresh baking mixed and spices. Really fun little shop to walk in. Pro tip, coffee and a fresh slice of bread is $1.50 at breakfast! My favorite is their sourdough, which runs about $5 for a loaf, but the challah, tomato basil, and some of the dessert breads are all delicious (all around $8). If you need a fresh loaf, stop in here, but go early or you might miss all the best choices!

All I can say is if you want to walk in a business and instantly be greeted by maybe some of the nicest people on the planet, go to Great Harvest's Dundee location. The best part is they give you FREE bread while they're at it. I tried the Dakota bread last visit and it's interesting but delicious, and chock full of sunflower seeds. Add a little of the butter and honey they have available and you're set. They even try to give you more free bread after you've finished your slice. A good variety of breads and other baked goods i.e. Cookies, kolaches, are available for purchase as well. Cinnamon chip is highly recommended. One reason I go to great harvest is for their granola...it's insanely delicious. It's cooked in orange juice which makes it slightly unique and oh so good.

Why the heck haven't I come here before?! This is what I was asking myself after finally going inside. The older couple that works the front area. You can just tell how much they adore their jobs and they are some of the sweetest folks. They're also familiar looking to me because they do both farmers markets. Anyways, their Coffee + a slice for $1 drew me inside. Upon entering, the most heavenly bread smells hits your nose and you know you have found the proper place. It's like an old fashioned bakery with real loves of bread on the shelves freshly, made and being brought out. They also had cakes and giant cookies for not very much. On one wall they had pre-made baking mixes and the other they had a small seating area and a drink cooler. The older gentlemen who works there offered us tons of free samples with real butter and local honey. He proudly told us they mill their own grains fresh and you can taste it in the bread. I was joking around with him about how good the bread is, but I thought mine might be better. It was good fun! He also told us they have some of the best sandwiches in town. Sadly I was waiting on food from the Falafel shoppe down the street otherwise I would have taken him up on the offer. My husband and I ended up getting a slice of honey whole wheat (which he claims is their most popular) with a bottle of water, he said you don't have to get coffee if you didn't want to. I put copious amounts of butter and honey on top and oh I was a happy happy girl. We even went back a second time for another slice with water and I WISH I would have gotten a sandwich there, oh well, maybe next time. They also have a monthly menu that does change and I find myself wanting to return to try them all. However of all the Tuesday breads, I think the whole wheat was best, which YAY they have all week! If you HATE whole wheat bread because you think it's too dense or grainy, you need to try this one. It was soft and fluffy like white bread would be. If I was to have one complaint it would be the bread is pretty high priced. The whole wheat was $6 but the loaf looked pretty large. If I didn't already have bread at home I would have bought one. I over heard him telling another lady to save the label because once you collect 12 you get a free loaf, that's pretty cool! The shoppe is also a little hidden, it's on the Underwood street just east of 50th on the north side of the road under what I'm assuming is their home. Seriously... I want to go back again!

What can you say about a business that gladly hands out free samples? I have passed by this location for years, but today as I was photographing Dundee I happened to park right in front of the store. I was about to leave but remembering their free samples, and I really wanted a nice loaf of bread, I decided to see what I could find. The free sample sitting on the counter this Saturday was a White Chocolate Cherry Swirl. It was to die for. Next to a sizable tub of butter didn't make it any worse. I was ready to buy a loaf, but being the end of the week, their selection was limited and this had sold out. I saw their selection of scones, and I made sure these got sold out next. The lady serving me was a hoot. She talked about the Vienna Orchestra (apparently in her first life she was a musician) and convinced me to YouTube "Hamilton" a Rapped Opera.I almost tried one of their sandwiches, but I was in a hurry. That was what actually first caught my attention, I did not know they had soups and sandwiches, and very reasonably priced. I will return if not for a loaf of bread (and free sample) but to try their roast beef sandwich.

Excellent and beyond pleasant service in the mornings. Lovely Lady is always working when we come in and she is simply awesome. I cannot believe I haven't caught her name yet. The kids love the free slices of cinnamon chip bread and we always pack up on dog biscuits and every so often something else... chocolate m&m whole wheat brownies, cinnamon rolls (tasty bite doesn't even cover it), and the occasional full loaf purchase. The new breakfast biscuits are delicious and a deal. In the past le quartier had the market on a quick breakfast for our "walking picnics" but now we have options. It is appreciated that the bakery makes everything from scratch, which justifies the prices, however I do wish they would cut corn syrup out of their recipes. This limits our purchases to the occasional versus the go to.

Go here mainly for their Cinnamon chip (?) bread, found out about it because they had a little stand downtown at the Old Market farmer's market and it's absolutely amazing. Easily finished off a full loaf with me and my girlfriend while waiting on drinks at a nearby bar.. Cinnamon loaf bread is one of their signature slightly sweeter breads, isn't too overwhelmingly sweet but has a subtle cinnamon flavor that lingers! Highly recommend. PS dog-friendly: Have pretty big dog treats for sale too for those dog lovers out there!!

Every time I've come here, I've been warmly greeted and treated like a welcomed friend. I love getting sandwiches here and also enjoy buying the loaves separately. I usually ask for their personal favorite when I order because they know what they're talking about. The samples of the day's bread are also a nice touch. I would highly recommend if you want a neighborhood gem that really delivers on producing quality bread and personable customer service.

If you stop in, you will walk in to a friendly face. I was offered a free sample of the Cinnamon bread, and man was it tasty. I went in looking for goodies, walked out with a pound of bread and some cinnamon rolls. All were very tasty! Highly recommend this homey, elegant bread store!
