Grand Motel

I like to stay at family owned establishments. Preferably older motels where a certain sense of old fashioned comfort can be found and the owner, their spouse and kids are involved in the motel's day-to-day activities. I also like to know that the money I spend stays locally. I found just that place in the Grand Motel in Hastings, Nebraska.I chose the Grand over the other local places because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews posted on the Internet. I was not disappointed. Despite arriving rather late at night, the owner greeted me with a smile and a hearty "welcome to Hastings". Parking was plentiful and backing a 20 foot truck and car trailer was easy.The 60-year-old motel is charming and boasts a nuts and bolts attitude that provides the essentials for a weary traveler. The room was clean and agreeable. The microwave was clean and the fridge was a standard sized unit found in almost all hotels and motels. Free wi-fi was a treat. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and provided the essentials (towels, soap, shampoo, and conditioner). Free breakfast is available upon request as are other amenities such as an iron and ironing board. The area is safe, quiet, close to restaurants and other services.I slept well and woke up refreshed, ready for the long day ahead of me. Thank you Mike, I look forward to staying at the Grand again!

Great place for value travelers! Clean room - everything worked in it - plus I got to park right at the door. I don't have a lot of money to spend on all of the amenities, so this place was perfect for me. Owner was great in meeting any help or questions I had. Would definitely stay here again if in the area!

The place is really nice for a road-side motel. The owner seems to care about teh place- a new tub in my room, and new door, clean sheets, etc. They've got good wi-fi, too.

This motel has a loving husband an wife who runs it, the gentlemen who run it his name is mike, he keeps the place up an well taken care of, he doesnt let the place be randown with druggies, he keeps his rooms clean. I stayed there a couple diff times an then we needed a place to live an mike gave us a room at a very resonable rate an we stayed there for 5 months. He is a very caring an understanding man. Very nice. We had a very plesent time while we lived there an we haveseen all the rooms. So if u ever need a plesent quite place to stay while traveling try here the grand motel, he was good to us an its the motel i will stay at in hastings ive experianced almost all of them

Pretty good, but bed did not seem to breath as well as most, so got hot where I lay for a while.Some TV channels had problems including no audio on some. Nice minifridge. AC cycles on and off. It would be nice if the fan could stay on between cycles for more consistent sound. Quiet. Good parking.

The employees are nice and the rooms are great I really recommend staying there if your looking for a great place to stay a night

Do not stay in this motel. I got allergy from their room and when I asked them to change the room, they asked me to leave the motel.Baaaaaaaaad...Ruuuunn awaay from it.

Very nice Motel at a reasonable price. Nice refrigerator that keeps everything nice and cold. They also have a microwave. The tub appeared new. The bathroom was very clean. If you are looking for a place to sleep without the fancy pool ect. This is reasonable clean place. The owner or manager is very nice too. They do not have a telephone in the room which is okay. Most people have cell phones. This is not a Hilton or even a Holiday Inn, however this awesome place to stay and sleep.

I would not recommend this motel. I stay in motels all over and this one definitely not good. Room was generally clean but there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, no ground fault in the bathroom, the heater/air conditioner did not work on all settings. One of the rooms we had had bed bugs. Needs updated badly.

I do not recommend this motel to anyone. It appears to be clean and nicely updated. I had problems with any electrical items I plugged in. They had to be taped to the wall as the outlets were bad. There was no ground fault outlet in the bathroom. The hot water had to run 15 minutes to warm up. During my shower I never had to turn the cold water on and it was lukewarm. There were bedbugs in one of the 3 rooms we had.
