Gloria Deo

Gloria Deo wasn't exactly what I was looking for but they still ended up giving me a great book to read!This place is mostly Catholic based, but has an awesome selection for children's books. It's not as big as divine truth, but offers pictures, scripture, prayer boxes, jewelry, crosses, bibles, funny tshirts and books.I am personally not Catholic but they had a great christian book about developing yourself as a young woman, and I was alllll about that! Overall, it was a happy experience and the taco tshirt about Jesus made me laugh!

Gloria Deo is a a MUST if you are a practicing Catholic in Omaha. It can be a bit pricey, depending on the items, but there is a variety of items and prices and you won't come across disturbing or immoral items you would otherwise be subjected to at a place like Barnes and Noble. Stock cycles through so you'll see different things each time. Some wonderful finds I've had include a Stations of the Cross rosary and a Catholic version of Cards Against Humanity.

This is a really nice Catholic gift store with a wide variety of items. It was fun browsing the many offerings of books, cards, art, socks, statues, jewelry, etc. I only wish there were more Saints represented in cards and jewelry as I couldn't find one item with mine (Saint Elizabeth of Portugal.) I have read before that she is underrepresented and deserves more recognition so I guess it's not a surprise that I never see anything on her but I was hoping since this was a good sized store I might get lucky.

I went there to get a gift for someone who loves St. Agnes. Walked in, asked for help, and the lady searched the inventory on her computer in 5 seconds. Three options for St. Agnes. She walked me around to show me all three. I made my selection, we joked and laughed the whole time. In and out in less than a few minutes and it was a really good price. First experience was great!

I feel it is necessary to update my review for Gloria Deo due to the fact that the owner contacted me shortly after my previous review was posted. He was very apologetic and offered to refund the full cost of the item I was trying to return along with a $25 gift card. He also assured me that they pride themselves on customer service and plans to review guest relations policies with all of their staff. He even stated "I have put your Yelp review at the top of our agenda for our next manager's meeting." I was very impressed with this response!

Lovely store. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. Wonderful selection of books, prayer cards, decorative and gift items.

What a gift to have this store online! A friend went to this store last year and got on their email list. He forwarded me their email recently with some interesting games. With a lot of free time lately, their board games seemed like the perfect gift. Although I've never stepped foot in the store, I can attest to what great online service they have. I placed an online order last week and my recipient received their gift within the week. Their shipping prices were reasonable and turn around from sitting on a shelf in the store to having been shipped was faster than expected. A tip though when selecting shipping options, there is an option for "more carriers" or "ups". When you click "more carriers", a TON of options pop up. I inadvertently selected UPS, which is a more expensive option. (They offer USPS, at more affordable rates.) There is also Fedex etc also.

Super frustrating to arrive at Gloria Deo last Saturday at 4:30, see the sign on the door posted that they close at 5:00, and find the doors locked. The man inside told me through the locked door that they've been closing at 4:00 on Saturdays for a while now. I think; hard to hear him through the locked door. My planned purchase would have given them the funding to change their posted hours to accuracy. Such a shame.

I visited this store in need of a confirmation gift. I was told by others that the service and friendliness were poor at best. I found this to be true. The clerk behind the counter's first words to me were not "hello" not "welcome", but "I assume you have found what you were looking for" ( I had taken 5 steps into the door). I said "no" and she was shocked. She proceeded to assist me but repeated herself a number of times seemingly frustrated wIth me and my requests. Where has customer service gone? We often complain about the young not having any but it is not age related.

Gloria Deo is an ideal place for Catholic gifts for anyone, holy items, books, statues, holy cards, etc. Great selection, great staff, will work to get you an item you want if they don't stock it. Very helpful. What more could you ask? I have been shopping here for years and love supporting a Catholic business like this.
