Genesis Health Clubs - Tara Plaza

Exercising here is fine.Dealing with management, contracts, etc. is an absolute nightmare. I ended up having the dispute the membership charges through the bank after months of chasing around and being scammed.Good luck.

For reviews that say this location is gross, I would listen. I was paying 55$ a month for a facility like this. The people who worked there were super nice. I signed up for one of the free training sessions, the trainer didn't show up. Okay... So I rescheduled with a new trainer that didn't show up. Once I can forgive but twice is too much. They also at the time had signs saying they were hiring personal trainers regardless of experience, which is interesting.

Laurenso was amazing to work with, he made the process super easy to sign up. If you are looking for a gym this is the one.

Let me start with the positives, the club employees are very helpful, upbeat and nice. The facility has very nice equipment and there is always an open treadmill when I go. Now the bad, the club is SUPER filthy. I never see anyone cleaning the gym. I went to the Pilates class on Sunday and there was actually food crumbs on the floor from a party the night before. The mats were worn and dirty. The sauna looked as if it's had better days.

Speaking as someone who regularly uses different gyms in major cities across the country, I'll say this: you people in Omaha don't know how good you have it. I travel to Omaha twice a year and go to Genesis for a few weeks each visit: This gym is exceptional. A clean facility, never too crowded, with a full array of equipment? A three lane lap pool - also never too crowded? A full basketball court? It is as complete as any gym in the country I've seen. And on top of that, the staff is always courteous and helpful. I don't write too many reviews, but after this last visit, the consistently helpful service - by everyone on the staff - compelled me to give some credit where it is due. And I'm rolling my eyes at these absurd one-star reviews. Breaking News: a popular gym that has hundreds of people in each day will occasionally require equipment maintenance. Also breaking - from time to time inconsiderate patrons will not clean up after themselves. Reality check, people.

Group excerise room has not cleaned the floors since covid. Disgusting!! Have to wash the floor before class if doing any excerise such as push ups, etc.

I went to cancel my membership this afternoon due to not being able to use it for over a year and continuing to pay. I explained to the manager that I have two family members who are in the process of cancer treatments, that I've been helping with, working two jobs and continuing my education to become a Pilates instructor. He then asked what I was doing for resistance training and I told him I was doing Pilates. He said that wasn't enough and asked if he could offer me personal training sessions to stay. I explained to him that I still had free trip personal training sessions and I really just don't have the time to do that right now, he then belittled me and told me that I wasn't taking care of myself and that later on I was going to regret it. I feel like the whole interaction was extremely rude and not customer service oriented. Full intentions of returning when things lightened up in my life and I told the front desk person that but now I don't think I'll ever step foot in a Genesis again, especially not Tara Plaza. I honestly don't trust that he is going to turn in my cancellation paperwork. It shouldn't be that hard to cancel a membership.

Came in several times in the last few weeks and noticed insects and large bugs all over the floor and locker room floors. Needs better cleaning done.

If I could rate a zero, that would've been my choice. Hearing the staff discuss the membership status of someone with special needs and referring to them as the R word is disappointing. The cleanliness is almost a health hazard with how poor it is. It smells like a sewer in the shower area. I used to love it here, unfortunately I can't say that is accurate anymore.

When I ask for a time frame for repairs, NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING! So frustrating that the closest gym to my work and house I can't even utilize. The website says they have the amenities listed, even if they aren't working. So you go there thinking they have the things listed on their website, but they don't. They gave me three free training sessions, so I booked one. The day before the trainer text me and told me she has a regular client at the time they signed me up for so she wanted me to change days. I'm only off that one day so I couldn't so I ended up never even seeing a trainer.
