As an Omaha native, the improvements to the Gene Leahy Mall are incredible. The playground alone makes me want to be a kid again. I also love how they kept the original slides. From the large green space, addition of native plant gardens, sitting spaces, water features, dog parks and more, the space is so multi-use now!

Since we ended up in this area of town often we had read about Gene Leahy Mall and wanted to stop. Once there it was a fun little park area that offered a water area for kids to cool off, an area to race motorized boats in the water or observe, and slides and swings worked into nature to let the kids play for awhile and get some vitamin D. We ended up not staying long as it was a bit busy and our girls being 9 we're getting on the older side as some of it was geared more towards the little. However, I'd say it's worth checking out!

Gene Leahy Mall is a park within The Riverfront. There is a playground with two large metal slides. I was tempted, but there were quite a few people at the slides. The walkway is nice as water runs in between and there is a good amount of places to sit and relax.

A lot of us (myself included) were skeptical about the park renovation. I am really happy with the variety of events and programs here. The playground is great, there are comfortable seating and hammocks, and functional bathrooms and drinking fountains. The landscaping is nice and all the trees are thriving. We were all worried they would take out the slides. But they kept the slides and added a few more that are also really awful but in a fun way, definitely fun to watch other people on! And everyone loves the rolling hill and the Cascade water feature. Everyone is here, the crowd is really diverse. This is a real city park!

SPECTACULAR event! We were greeted with a water lantern kit, all that you need to build and write your message with a tea lite shinning bright ,..they had the stage for great music...and also to share your lantern story and of course not realizing there were 4000+ people I got up there and shared that my light was shining for my niece CHARLIE ..11 yrs old fighting the fight to beat brain tumor/Cancer ..she was MY shining light tonight! Great Yelp discount on a hoodie and pink flower crown so when I see her in California soon I will gift them to her ..a nice man video taped my story to gift her as well ...lots of vendors..I did shop..yummy food trucks but the lines were too long...so many pets..dogs, a pig and a goat...even thought I saw a horse ..turned out it was a very large dog We loved the experience! Thank you Yelp!! It was amazing ...for young, old, and kids of all ages!

Nice spot to spend the date if it's not too hot. We found street side parking easy enough. We can go check out the boats and do a rental but it wasn't open or working.

The city of Omaha has invested a lot of money into this park, and it shows. This is an amazing park that features a public art walk, picnic shelter, ping pong tables, tables and chairs, picnic tables, a shelter, fire pits, Adirondack chairs, hammocks, a playground and a first-class amphitheater with a large area of green space. There is metered street parking within a reasonable walking distance to/from this park. And one of the entrances to this park is marked with the iconic Arch. The park began as Central Park Mall in the 1970s and was renamed Gene Leahy Mall after former Omaha Mayor Eugene A. Leahy, in the 90s. The park was reimagined in 2022, raising the park up to street level, which added over 40,000 square feet of lawn space and added the pavilion, sculpture garden, playground and a dog park. The park also features huge metal slides that you can ride down to the lower level where you will find additional tables, chairs, and benches. There is also an interactive water feature down there as well. This park butts up against another great park, Heartland of America Park. The playground, Arches Playground, is very modern. It is fenced in and lined with turf. It's equipment includes climbing wall and ropes, slides, and tall climbing arches. The sculpture garden consists of 6 sculptures, including a 26-foot-tall "Wind Sculpture" that sits in a pool of water that doubles as a place to cool off in the summer. The hammocks and fire pits are in the sculpture garden area. There is a restroom facility near the amphitheater. Another cool feature of the park that you will find at night is its lighting feature. The park is light up will an array of colors that makes it very beautiful and eye catching. It is really cool and something that you definitely should see,This is a marvelous park tucked in the heart of downtown. It is an optimal site for concert special events, or just someone looking to take a break from the hustle and bustle of down town and just relax a bit. It is a very modern and trendy park and is very scenic. You can spend a decent amount of time here. I highly recommend checking this this place out. It sets the bar for what a park should be.

I absolutely love walking around here with my friends! It is such a nice space for people of any age to go and walk around. There's also lots of seating options with swinging benches nearby. There is also a little water park area for younger kids which I think is really cool. A dog park is also nearby and maybe people walk their dogs around here! I really love being here. It is one of my favorite spots downtown.

Love the acceptability of this park! Even on a chilly day it's a great under hour walk from riverfront to the old library site and stroller accessible throughout. The parks have little fall photo ops set up throughout which is a cute touch. This has really reenergized downtown Omaha and a great stop or walk for all ages. Skating, playing at one of many playgrounds or just kickin back in a chair, there's something to see throughout the Bast expanse.
