Small little hardware store located on North 30th St. Waffling between a two or three star, but rounding up because the service was friendly. This is a very basic hardware store. A place where you can find the basics from a hardware perspective. Nuts, bolts, screws, brackets, some limited paints and a few other odds and ends. Don't expect a box store selection here. I'd stop back here again if I was in need of some nuts and bolts or a screen fixed, but the limited selection of other basics would probably push me to a bigger box store.

Walked in, soon approached by the apparent owner, and I mentioned I was just looking, but that it looked like a great small store, with everything. Staying with that a moment, the place was well stocked, tools, parts for nearly everything a homeowner might need, prices a little high. Nearest Home Depot is about three miles away, on 72nd. That's my two stars. So the man turned and went back to a phone call, loudly cursing at whoever, after which he cursed his staffer, who was fixing a window. Within a few minutes, he closed half the distance between us to basically tell me that if I wasn't going to buy anything, he didn't want me in his store. Soon after, I asked for help, but he just said "No" and returned to the back. He had no idea that I likely have more in my bank accounts than he, had years in the hardware business, and was just a bored old man, just missing the atmosphere. I could use some sash locks, a couple of drill bits, and a snow shovel, and had intended something at least to support this local business. But that potential $50 sale went poof, so I'll go back to a local Ace. I wasn't mad, just shocked. The manner I was treated was the worst in any store in years, by a man who apparently is in the wrong kind of business. I won't ever go back.
