Went tent camping here on a spur of the moment decision one Friday evening so we only had a few spaces to pick from as they were almost booked up solid.I don't know why this place is so popular. It was pretty gross. The sites for tents were mowed ok but there was garbage everywhere. Garbage in the grass, garbage in the trees, and garbage floating in all of the lakes. Even the swimming beach was covered in trash. It was way too packed to feel any sense of seclusion either. We were listening to kids screaming at their parents, parents threatening their kids, and blaring stereos all evening.I guess if you owned a boat or a jet ski and somehow couldn't afford to drive it anywhere better then this place might have some appeal but there are so many nicer places in eastern Nebraska to camp at and spend time outdoors.

My family and I love these lakes. They usually have enough children for the kids to play with, but not do many people that it's unpleasant. This recreational area is also close enough to Omaha that it makes for a good day trip. There are plenty of tables, so we always being a picnic with us. When you are done, if you drive East down Military, there is a Zesto's that is a nice end of day treat.

Fremont lakes #20: we have visited here on the lake for the last 3 summers on the weekends. We set up on the beach with our family, cooked-out, let the kids swim, enjoy some drinks, and relax from the work week. There is always plenty of room for everyone on this large sand beach. We will continue to enjoy summers here as there are not too many lakes around this area that allow PWCs. The ONLY issue is the Nebraska Game and Parks are overbearing. Almost every weekend there is a game warden passing through, so you had better ensure that your following the rules. For the most part they are friendly, but there are a few instances where they yell and point fingers at people. So be on your "A" game here. If I could buy a nice house on a lake to avoid being harassed by law enforcement from NGPC I would. Other than that, we really enjoy the lake.....
