Such a fun place. It's quickly becoming a family haunt for birthday parties. The watermelon is so good and we tried some new items last night. The voodoo hot sandwich was so good!Love the variety or food and drinks and all the folks and regulars are so friendly.

This is what a dive bar should be all about! No frills but the food isn't compromised. First time going to Junior's Forgot Store. We went hiking in Honey Creek, IA and stopped by here for a late lunch. I've heard of the famous Watermelon drink and wanted to give it a try. Definitely had a small town bar vibe with a birthday party going on, on one half of the building and several regulars on the other half. I ordered a cheeseburger with a side of homemade fries and ranch and everything was so good! Hamburger was juicy, fries were crispy and the ranch was perfect! The watermelon drink did not really taste like watermelon but was good. Reminded me of Elk Creek Water from Sandy's in Lincoln (iykyk). Orange juice, vodka and grenadine perhaps? Was very impressed and would come back if I was in the area.

Place is very much a dive bar. They're a hit or miss on food. Usually tastes good however portion sizes have gone way down with cost same. I get it however, I'd prefer to pay more so I'm not eating a bunch of bread with a little bit of meat or a half a plate of onion rings when I ordered as an appetizer. The place is very raunchy at night so if you have kids, get out before 8p, maybe even 7p. I know some think that's a no brainer but many bars with kitchens are usually pretty tame until 9p around here- not this place. They are friendly and helpful. Also, nice outdoor seating with bar outside. And good live music on weekends when weather is nice.

It had a weird smell when I walked in but I couldn't place what it was. It either dissipated or I got used to it. The menu is not spectacular and all burgers are a 1/2 pound with the only side included is chips. If you want fries or onion rings or a salad, it is an up charge. Drinks are served in plastic, utensils are plastic and the waitress just does what she needs to. Neither rude nor pleasant, just "eh". Dad had. Ad the shrimp with an up charged salad. My aunt and I split a cheeseburger with up charged onion rings. It was good but overpriced for what you get. If we lived in Po ca we would probably return it we will not be going out of our way again

Okay so let me start this off by saying its incredibly hard to check in here, as their wifi isn't the greatest, and cell service is non-existant if you are an AT&T or Sprint customer. As a result I've been to the forgot store considerably more times than is reflected by my yelp checkins. On to the actual review. The forgot store is a hidden gem that not a lot of people remember, or seem to know about to begin with, nestled up in the Ponca Hills, north of town. To give you an idea of just how far north, hit the Alpine Inn, and just keep right on going for about 10 more minutes if you drive the speed limit. The forgot store once upon a time was an actual store, kinda like a little general store for those living up in the area. Now its a friendly local dive bar, with some of the best pizza I've had in town, and a wonderful laid back atmosphere. Before the ghost of Donna D, comes back to life to yell at me about history, and calling this place a dive bar, I want to specify one thing: calling a bar a dive bar is not a slam, I absolutely LOVE dive bars. The Alpine inn is a dive bar, the Homey inn is a dive bar too, as is Brother's, and Sullivans. And these are all great bars, but I digress. The pricing for what you get at the Forgot Store is pretty great. $4 will get you one of the original Anchor Inn Watermelons, which you cannot get since the anchor closed all those years ago. Beer is cheap, apps are priced well, and a large meat lovers pizza will run you about $21, but damn is that pizza worth it.Unlike the Alpine Inn, where when you walk through the door, it kinda feels like an 80's record scratch and everyone stares "you're probably wondering how I got here" trope, the Forgot store has always been a friendly and welcoming place.I just wished they'd fix the wifi situation, for now i guess I'll just have to talk to friendly regulars, or my friends I've gone there with.

I really like this place. Good food. I had the patty melt. Tasty. The other items on the menu looked good too. I'll definitely be back to try other items. They have a nice patio, but the night I was there it rained.I came for the live music so the food was a bonus.

Junior's Forgot Store is a great, local (somewhat hidden) gem and the "new" home of the original Anchor Inn Watermelon! The atmosphere and food are great and truly hard to beat. The pizza is a definite must, as is the Sunday broasted chicken special. The prime rib pocket and prime rib they've had on special were also excellent. The Forgot Store is the only place I've ever ordered prime rib as rare and it was actually just that, and with great flavor! There's too many great things on the menu to mention them all. We've never had a bad meal or a bad time at Junior's Forgot Store and we enjoy stopping in when we can.

Having grown up in the area, The Forgot Store was for the longest time, just that, a store. If you needed something and didn't want to drive all the way "into town", The Forgot Store was where you went. After college, when I moved back to town, I started hearing about how great their house pizza was. Having remembered it as a grocery store, I was a little confused, but filed it away. Earlier this year, I finally made it back out to give this legendary pizza a try, and I was not disappointed. It lived up to the hype. (And if you're ever there on a Saturday night, and they have the prime rib pocket, do yourself a favor and order it. It's divine!) Heck, let's be honest, I haven't had anything on the menu that I wouldn't order again. The Forgot store has become "our spot" where my boyfriend and I go for cheap beer, great food, salt of the earth patrons, and where the wait staff remembers our names and what we're probably going to order. It's a dive bar where you don't have to dress to impress. But if you do, nobody's going to give you grief about how you're in the wrong part of town. You're not going to find a sophisticated bar setup with all the latest craft cocktails available, or dozens of tap handles with specialized or trendy beers available. That's part of the appeal. Going to the Forgot Store isn't about seeing and being seen. It's about good food, affordable drinks, a couple sporting events on the TV behind the bar, and a relaxing way to spend a Friday night.

Friday 5pm, took last parking spot and open table. A true dive bar, no glasses or real silverware, roll of papertowels on the tables. Had mozzarella sticks - not a good choice, came with cold, not lukewarm, but just out of the fridge cold tomato sauce. My husband liked the pizza, I give it an almost 7. Would I come back, yes, for some beers, if I was in the area. IMO, not a "hey let's go to...for pizza" place. Staff wasn't over-friendly, but they weren't rude either.
