Lanes
View of the back lanes (this was a weeknight but that was a party, so may not always been that busy)
Our torn up board compared to the other two with cleaner wood...
Selfie gear for the ready.
That's not how this is supposed to go, but it stuck. Zero points.
Flannel helps!
Great catering options. This was Monarch Prime Steakhouse!

Axe throwing was always something that my wife and I wanted to do, so we finally got to do it on a date night a few months back. One important thing to note is that you have to schedule your throwing time beforehand on their website. At the time, they supposedly did not accept walk-ins, but I do not know if that has or will change. Also, closed-toe shoes are required, so leave the sandals at home! The building itself is pretty basic and not a lot of decorating flare (which is fine, because I am here to throw axes). When you arrive, you have to sign the waiver, you have an opportunity to buy food, drink, etc and then you wait for your time to come. Once it is your scheduled time, you are taken back to your lane, giving a demo and overview of the various games and operating rules. After that, you are on your own but our guide was nearby most of the night if we had questions. He was able to answer questions and take food/drink orders. For the menu, they had popcorn and other small snack menu and a selection of canned beers, seltzers, and ciders. Prices were reasonable for the items my wife and I purchased. For the axe-throwing itself, you can reserve by the hour or lane. One hour is $20 per person or $35 for two hours (6 people per lane, includes training prior to starting). You can also rent two lanes for an hour for $200 (up to 12 people) or two hours for $350. There are a variety of games, including a traditional target, a Connect 4 style game, 21, a matching game, and more! Players are given clever names such as "Pain in the Axe" and "Axe Hole". You can also choose to use an axe or throwing star for additional fun or challenge. It's actually a bit more tiring than it seems. The atmosphere was very welcoming and there were plenty of bathrooms and they were clean and had all supplies stocked. Staff was friendly and helpfulWhen we were done, we were taking selfies near the entrance (there is a backdrop and props), and the hostess offered to take our picture. We both had fun and are looking at going back with the kids.

I was hesitant. It was a Team Building exercise for work and no one seemed excited, except the fella running the place and the gal at the counter that had the beer. After a quick explanation and a brief demonstration we were off and running. It was super fun and I'm certain that every one of us had a Great time. They had decent canned beer and the bathrooms were clean. I would highly recommend doing this with anyone and everyone.

My first time axe throwing...So glad I tried it. I've seen axe throwing posted on my friends' social media pages throughout the country, and it took me to travel to Omaha to try it myself. The building is barebones, cold, but exactly what it should be for this type of activity. The plus was that the bathrooms were roomy and warm comparatively. Also, they have a pretty big cooler full of canned beers and cocktails that they will serve you as you wait and throw...You can get three during your visit. We threw for one hour, there were four of us. With the training to start, we did wish we had more time, but next time would be better without the instruction time. So, I'd still do an hour, but you can do two. It took me a minute to get the hang of it, but another in my group got it to stick just about every time with no experience either. Bottom line, all levels of competitors will have fun here. The reason for knocking off one star is that our board was really torn up. There was very little red bullseye left and the line, must be where righties tend to throw, between the middle and second board to the right was really cut up. I'm attaching a picture...if you zoom in, you can see the difference between the boards on the three lanes of our section, we were on the right. It just seemed like more of our axes would have stuck had we had fresher wood. We had a good time, girls bonding night, and I would go back...

My friends and I went here for a belated celebration this past weekend and it was really fun.We checked in and placed a couple drink orders. Then we were off to learn how to throw an axe. The 'coach' taught us and then were off to play as much as we wanted in the hours' time.It was a blast and you definitely get better as the time goes by.It was really fun and I can definitely see myself going back.

We went here for my son's 13th birthday party. Brooklynn greeted us promptly at the check in area. After the waivers were signed and our coats hung up, it was time to head to our throwing lane. Jacob was our stellar axe throwing trainer showing us the proper way to hold the axe, technique and etiquette (yes, there's etiquette in axe throwing). He was patient and encouraging with our group. Very important with a group of first timers. My wife and I also got a chance to wield an axe or two at the target. I must say, it's quite addicting. Is it wrong to go axe throwing on date night? I think not. Tracey K and I will definitely be back.Service here is top notch and a wide variety of beverages. Also, free popcorn; can't go wrong with that!

I came away from my one hour session at flying timber with the following observations...Staff was excellent. Friendly, helpful, fun. The concept is neat. Like bowling (except you could probably do it at home). It's a little spendy. ($20 / hour per person) before tips plus drinks. But people will obviously spend it. The pace felt too speedy. I felt that right after we had our intro and practice throws, we got the "you have 20 minutes left" warning. Then, they came through to close out our tabs before our last 20 minutes were even up. I just felt rushed. Maybe it's because we were having so much fun?? All in all a cool concept and a fun outing but not probably something I'd shell out to do again.

Love this place and the event was setup well. Love that there are instructors on hand to give you pointers. Place is pretty spacious. I would definitely tell people to give it a try. It takes some getting used to but definitely enjoyed myself! Thanks for all the swag Yelp!

What a cool place. I wasn't sure what to expect but really loved this experience. Flying Timbers is set up well and was really fun.For $20 per person per hour you can throw as many axes as you want. The staff is available to coach you (it's harder than it looks) and there are scorecards available with several different scoring methods to make the game more fun.For me, I was just so psyched to finally hit the target and have my axe hold. I can totally see this being a great team building event. I'm looking forward to bringing my kids for a family day event (12 and under won't bee admitted). In addition, they have wine, beer, soda, etc to quench your thirst. Lots of bathrooms too which I especially liked.

I'll be the first to admit I was hesitant. I couldn't figure out how an axe throwing business could exist. The best thing to relate it to is bowling but with axes. It's so much fun and it's the same concept where you have lanes and play with groups of people to try and get as many points as possible. The staff was always available to help with technique and to keep the experience safe and fun.One thing I was not prepared for was the closed toe shoe policy. Thankfully they had some shoes available for rental, at a cost. Since this is a safety concern, I don't feel that should be an extra charge to the regular admission. Again, compared to bowling where shoes are usually wrapped up in the rental fee. Overall a great experience and would certainly go back. It would be a great suggestion for corporate parties and events!
