Nice facility. I appreciate their later hours and being open on the weekends. Kind staff and the doctor was willing to answer my gazillion questions.

Seems like all the docs rotate between the locations, which is a bit weird. That said, Dr. Pfeil is the best eye doc I've seen in several years. He was able to fit me in contacts for my unusual post-LASIK eyes. I had also ordered a pair of glasses from an optician in NYC which were not correct, and the staff worked with me to measure and test my prescription so I could get them repaired. I would not hesitate to recommend this place for anyone. I've also seen how their optical center works and they seem to have one of the most sophisticated fitting and measuring systems that I've seen in Lincoln.

The Optomotrist took his time and was very thorough when checking for diabetic retinopathy. Choosing new glasses is always a gamble and has gotten so expensive... you just have to know what your plan will allow.

I have been a faithful customer of Eyecare Specialties for many years but no more. No one answers the main phone line after multiple rings and multiple days of calling, a dramatic change from the past but the final straw was getting the wrong prescription twice. Not only did I have to get my eyes reexamined at a different business, which is now correct, but my son's prescription was also incorrect and now requires a second eye exam. I will be requesting a refund but who knows with the new management if I will get one. Very sad because there's some great docs there but the new change is not good. First time ever I have wrote a negative review for a business but it's pronounced.

So I posted on 11/8/2021 about my bad experience here. John D responded and sent me their email address to talk about it. I sent email twice and nobody responded. So sad to see how bad this place has gone downhill

This office gets 0 stars for customer service, 0 stars for wrong eyeglass prescription and no contact lens prescription, and 0 stars for being overpriced. I know that clinics are tough to run, but I still believe that (most) medical providers go into the profession with a genuine desire to care for and help people. Sometimes though, you lose sight of that when you get too focused on the bottom line ($$). So AVOID! This place is all about billing you and your insurance as much as possible. Watch your Wallet! Tacky! Please, do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.

I cannot wear the glasses they prescribed. I can't see using them. I tried going back to have them redone, but they still are useless. What a waste of money. I would not recommend Eye Care Specialties at all. STAY AWAY if you want to see.

I've gone to this "practice" since I was 6. I got contacts when I was 13. I have never received a follow up phone call after getting any trial contacts. The last set that I got at age 20 caused me to be in so much pain I would take them out after 8 hours- on a good day. They were supposed to be contacts that I could potentially wear all day long.I had to call THEM to get a new brand, was transferred between branches, departments, and still didn't get a solution. I was severely disappointed in the lack of customer service- I've been your patient for the last 14 years! After contacting an aunt who works at a eye doc's office in California I was told that the fact that Eye Care Specialties charges extra to have follow up care for contacts AND don't schedule two week follow up exams plus monthly appointments for the next three months are signs that they don't follow a standard best practice. Maybe they were better when I was younger, but in recent years they are no longer a reputable practice. I would recommend researching all options before deciding on ECS.

This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor/healthcare. I found the staff very cold and not very down-to-earth. I say this because after my exam, I wanted to be fitted for contacts. As far as I know, most optometrists charge between $30-75 for this. I was told it would be $140 (on top of the price for the exam and contacts--I would have been paying almost $300 out-of-pocket after insurance). When I questioned it, the nurse said she would talk to the doctor, who asked if I wanted to do it or not and I said I didn't have the money to pay that much that day. He told me that was fine, but then directed me to the front desk to check out and leave. My insurance offers coverage on a basic contact fitting and follow-up, but only 10% off of "premium" fitting and follow-up, which is the only option they were offering me. When I asked if there was any alternative, maybe something cheaper, the receptionist told me her "hands were tied." Not something you want to hear in this setting. I made an appointment with another optometrist in town that offers the same service for 1/4 of the price. I would say if you're considering going here, don't--they are very money-hungry.

I purchased new frames with a new prescription. When I picked them up, they were fitted and I experienced difficulty adjusting to the progressive lenses but was told to wear them for at least a week to adjust to them. I returned after a week to have them readjusted because seeing up close was an issue. They were adjusted but then while watching TV and reading the screen, the text appeared doubled. Upon the next visit, that issue was addressed but I still did not feel as though I had as clear vision as my previous glasses. I returned and asked how different the new prescription was compared to the previous one. Only one eye was slightly different and mention was made that it was only a tiny difference which made me wonder why I was struggling to see clearly with the new $700+ glasses. My husband asked why I frequently removed them and others in my workshops noticed that I was frequently adjusting them on my face. They suggested returning for another adjustment. When I mentioned how many times I had already returned, they suggested something was not right with my prescription or I shouldn't experience this much frustration. I returned and expressed my concern and it was recommended to see the doctor again to have the prescription rechecked. I did that and was told that it was correct. The optician rechecked the lenses and said the vision line was 1mm off but that it was now too late to remake the lenses. I asked to speak with the manager and when I mentioned how many times I had returned to request adjustments, I was told those times were not documented. I did not know I had to request documentation. I will not be returning to the office. I've put up with frustrating glasses for a year now. I would not recommend this office.
