Eugene T. Mahoney State Park

This was our first stop in our move from Illinois to California and it didn't disappoint. We were in the Lakeside Campground in a spot with full hookups, near the restrooms. Bathrooms were pretty clean. The campground was a little busy but everyone was courteous and the spaces are far enough away from each other. The campground host was very nice! Across the road in front of our site was green space, paths, and a frisbee golf course. The whole area was great for our dogs and had we stayed longer there were a lot of activities to do!

We had a family reunion there with our kids. We used what we considered to be the best seven campsites in the park. They were perfect for our group with a great gathering area in the center site. The campground hosts were great, friendly and helpful. The bathroom/showers were underwhelming but served our purposes just fine. There were many great activities in and near the park for both kids and adults. We had a great time and are considering doing it again next year! Beautiful park!
