Authentic Mexican food at smoking deal prices. Complimentary Salsa tray with peppers is amazing, comes with green salsa, 2 red salsas, and a mixed spicy peppers and onions. My whole family ate dinner for $40. Warm chips.

Stopped in here on a bike ride down 24th St. for some tacos. Inside area is very small (and closed for the obvious reasons currently). It was clean and the service was friendly, with many drink options and complimentary chips.Only ding I would give was that I have had better quality meat at other 24th st. establishments. I went with Al pastor, asada, and tripas. All served in the standard corn tortillas with fresh cilantro and onion . As I said, just not the best quality meat. Chips and salsa were delicious, and the Mexican Coke is always great.Overall, I would return, these are quality authentic street tacos, if that's what you're looking for!

Found this little gem in South O. It is as authentic as you will find. As you can see from the pic, the burrito was muy grande. It come with sour cream (not my fav), but the meat and everything packed inside was absolutely delicious! I took the rest home. The beef inside was chunks, not ground, a big plus in my book. The tacos were also delicious. You have many choices for filling from chicken, chorizo, beef, and beef toungue and either a corn or flour tortilla. The price of these beef tacos were less than $2 each. The service was very quick and friendly. The size of the restaurant is quite small, but aren't many hole-in-the-wall places with great food?

For tacos, 2.5. This was stop #2 on the 2015 taco tour, an event organized annually by local yelper Sarah G.First, setting: I dont ask for much when dining in smaller Mexican joints on 24th street, so my expectations were met just fine here. Clean tables, friendly staff and a glass of ice water with A/C is good in my book. Not much ambiance, but for a trip down south 24th street, pretty much a standard setting. A few families and friends eating, and I noticed we were definitely in the minority, not being Hispanic--great! I am all for eating where the locals dine.Tacos (didn't try other menu items as it was a taco tour): Standard double corn tortilla with the meat, onions, cilantro and (no lime wedge). I could have asked for one I am sure, but they are often offered with the tacos, so I didn't bother. Complimentary chips with orders, nothing to rave about, a few salsa options. The salsa offered here is more of a fully blended liquid sauce variety [not chunky] served in syrup dispensers and I think just sit on the table so not the kind of salsa that requires chilling. Don't quote me on that one, but that is what it seems like to me. Green and red verde were options with the complimentary chips. The tacos themselves were fine, but in my opinion with so many places around to choose from, not my number 1. This is probably due to the meat, which was lacking in flavor to me, although texture was great.

Great authentic Mexican food. Our kids all love the asada tacos & rice. Nice staff in a cozy little space. Great prices, we had a light lunch for 6 for $40

This is one of your 24th street unassuming hole in the wall restaurants. We came for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. While the breakfast menu is not exhaustive they have two of my favorites - Huevos con chorizo and Huevos ala Mexicana. I had one and wife had the other. We were not disappointed. Come here with a big appetite because you get lots of eggs and lots of tortillas. Also, don't be intimidated because everyone there is from the barrio.

Stopped by here with the 2015 Taco Tour crew. The exterior is a little unassuming on the outside, but if you're in the area, El Ranchito is worth a visit if you haven't been before (and yes I know there are dozens of locally lauded taquerias nearby). Now the interior was a bit cramped with perhaps one-too-many tables, complete with vinyl table clothes. Still, you could tell this was a mom-and-pop establishment that was dedicated to serving up affordable and delicious Mexican food.Seeing as we were on a taco tour, I order up one asada and one pastor taco. Both were pretty average and in line with what you'd expect from a run-of-the-mill taco joint in South Omaha. A a postscript note, seeing Lianna N's pic of the cheek taco makes me think I should've been a bit more adventurous. They also serve you complimentary chips and salsa and have dried peppers for you to sprinkle on your food if you dare. In all, a worthy spot for a quick meal.

Thought the food was great! I really liked the variety of salsa they put on your table with the chips. Tried a couple different things. I will definitely be back to try some other dishes.
