Nopal Mexican Restaurant

A solid place for Mexican food in Maryville. Stopped in while in the area on business of a 5 star review on Yelp. It had only been reviewed once, so I knew it wasn't a sure thing, but I was pleasantly surprised. I can't give them 5 stars, but only because their chips were a little stale, and the regular salsa tasted like over-oregano'd marinara sauce. Ask for some of the spicy salsa they keep in the back, instead. Everything else was really good, though. I had the Pollo con Queso, which is just chicken topped with queso dip, with side of rice and beans. Everything was really good, and the service was friendly. Easily 5 stars if they can boost their salsa game.

The service at El Nopal is amazing! Friendly hosts and even friendlier waiters/waitresses. I enjoy their authentic flavors in their salsa!! The queso is a white queso that goes nicely with anything and I almost always get a cup to start my meal.

I love this place! Now I've only been here 2x's but OMG! It's good! I've only ordered the Jalisco special both times. The first time was damn good. Second time I pressed my luck and asked to kick it up a notch. Added a few item to the Jalisco special. Tomato onion bell pepper and jalapeño.... I should add I've never eaten here. I've only order to take out next door to my hotel. Sooo while I wait for my food the first trip I order a house margarita... it was very tasty! On my next trip here I decide to get a margarita made with patron... Mmm ...Anyway the guys working were very busy both nights and made sure I was taken care of. So I recommend this place 5 . It's good!

Fajitas were burnt with very little spice or flavor. Tortillas were also dried out. Service was good. Food just substandard. No idea why good reviews unless people don't get out much

Love El Nopal. A little pricey compared to El Maguey, but the food is great, waitstaff is pleasant, and margaritas are delicious :)
