El Mezcal Mexican Restaurant

Came here not really expecting too much and I was not disappointed! My buddy and I came here on a Thursday night and it was per busy but we got seated right away. Waiter was decent and the decor was decent and the food was decent. Nothing to wow Home about. The portion size was large but there was just something missing with the food. I had the Al Pastor nachos and I had to add tomatoes and cilantro and salsa. If I had guacamole and sour cream I would have added that. The taste was just ok (decent) but it really could have used a little pizzaz. It has plenty of meat, chips, cheese and onion. I think some fresh cilantro and pineapple on top would have made it better.

We stopped in for a quick work lunch. The menu is fairly typical for this type of restaurant. They had a nice variety of selections and the prices were quite reasonable. They had some very tasty complimentary chips and salsa. The décor is fun and flashy with a little Mexican flair. The service was friendly and efficient. The food tasty and plentiful. I will certainly be glad to stop in again another time.

Love their rice, and overall amazing food. The service is amazing and they treat their customers kindly. And the resturant is very nice and well cleaned aswell as decorated, overall their food is amazing!

Fast service good food! We were in and out in 45 minutes and there were a lot of people in there. It's decorated nicely! Very authentic!

Storefront style restaurant in a strip mall setting. Parked out front during a chilly sleeting rainy evening after work. Lots of diners packed into the seats by the windows. Walked in and stood by the seating stand for a few minutes and then was greeted and promptly seated. A friendly young lady delivered warm tortilla chips and housemade salsa to my table. Soon after my server inquired about drinks and food order. I ordered Guacamole dip and Enchilada Nortena for my meal. In less than three minutes my Guacamole was delivered and it was chocked full of tomatoes and jalepeno chunks. Very tasty both by the fork full and on chips. Then to attack my Enchilada yummy the tortilla shell was piping hot and loaded with grilled chicken and mushrooms and cheese. Very tasty and as a side chopped lettuce and sour cream. All of my food was fresh and delicious.

El Mezcal is a relatively recent (6 years?) but firmly established Columbus mainstay. Their decor is recently updated, and as usual the place is charming, clean and nearly at capacity. Waiters, hosts, waitresses and bartenders are extremely polite and professional, the menu is varied and the prices are excellent for the quality and speed of your meal and service. Never a bad experience in all the years of going here, and the only quibble I could possibly make is that I want the kitchen to add some more exotic options to the menu. 5/5 stars.

Every single thing about this place is amazing. The QUESO, mainly. the food is perfect size portions, drinks are fantastic, and service is always top notch!

Mexican cuisine is plentiful and popular no matter where you are. Choices abound. So it's nice to find a establishment that takes it seriously and does it right. El Mezcal is superb!I was greeted and seated promptly in an already busy restaurant. I ordered an ice tea as I reviewed their well designed menu. Their iced tea was fresh brewed, a must. They quickly followed that with warm corn chips and a salsa made with a very fresh blend of tomato, pepper, cilantro, spice, and lime. A great start!I ordered the Carnitas plate and my meal got even better! Authentic, meaty, roasted pork with a side of tender, moist Spanish rice, frijoles (made from scratch I'm sure) guacamole, pico de gallo, and warm corn tortillas. I savored every bite!This is seriously superior Mexican food! Made by people who understand the culture and cuisine of this proud heritage. El Mezcal is an absolute must-try. You will not be disappointed.

The owner is very attentive and the staff has been well trained one of if not the best place to eat while in Columbus or just driving through while not being the most "authentic" Mexican food out there it definitely is great Tex-Mex

Service was fine, food was good. Restrooms were fine I would return to this business again. Quesadilla was good, chili verde plate was good and the guacamole was good. The chips were delicious, but the second bowl of chips were too broken to dip on salsa or guacamole. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce but the chips were delicious.
