Our Supper Club ate at El Arepon recently, and it was such a nice experience! First off, the location can be a little hidden from the main road, but if you use your Maps app, it should take you right there. The interior is fun and bright, with Venezuelan flags hung everywhere, nice wooden chairs and tables, and cute signs on the walls about their beer options and desserts. We spoke with the owner a lot, and he was so friendly and cheerful. He definitely wanted to be sure we all loved our food (which we did!)I started with the Papas Rellenas to share with the table, and they were HEAVENLY. Perfectly seasoned beef and mashed potatoes all fried up in a giant ball. Really good with any of their amazing sauces. And definitely ask for a bottle of each of the sauces, because they are all fantastic in their own ways!I tried an Arepa as well as a bit of a starter, and it was also very tasty! I had tried many arepas in Colombia, and this took me right back there. I had the Catira Arepa, and it was so delicately fried up and then filled with scrumptious chicken, shredded cheese, and some of the amazing house sauce (that's one of the amazing sauces mentioned previously). For my entree, I had the Pastichio, which is a Venezuela "lasagna" dish, with tomato, smoked ham, béchamel sauce, and lots of cheese all melted on top. It was extremely decadent in its richness, and the portion size was huge, so you may have some to take home as leftovers and enjoy later! My husband had the Pepito, which was a giant sandwich full of sliced sausage, carne asade (or another protein of your choice), cabbage, potato chips, and tons of their delicious sauces on top. I got to try it, and it was SO flavorful and satisfying! Another giant portion that will leave you with leftovers, too.We ended the meal with two desserts - the flan and the churros:-The flan was great and super sweet, especially with the added chocolate sauce on top - yum. -The churros were my favorite of the two, as they were soft, warm (obviously freshly made) and also came with a few dips to dunk them in like chocolate and caramel. I'm still dreaming about those churros. With a great owner/staff, fun atmosphere, and out of this world amazing food, I definitely recommend you check out El Arepon for yourself!

Service was quick and the waiter was very patient answering our questions. We had the paella and parrillas (steak and chiccarones). The food was so flavorful with large portions. We took some churros to go and they barely made it home. They were fresh and hot. We will definitely go back to try some of the other items on their menu.

Came here for lunch on a recommendation and really enjoyed it. The owner was so helpful in the options and best choices for our tastes, definitely recommend exploring the options a bit. I went with a couple of the arrepas which I highly recommend, but my friend had the Pepito and it looked so good, I'd definitely try it next.Cost was around $15 + tip, which felt fair for the quality and amount of food, will definitely be back at some point.

I went for lunch today with coworkers and the server was extremely kind! The food took a long time to be ready but he let us know ahead of time that they were short staffed. I had the Cuban sandwich, it was pretty good but not as authentic as ones I've had before. I can't wait to come back here and try some arepas!

A much welcome Venezuelan Restaurant to the Olde Town area of Bellevue. Recently opened and located off of 23rd Ave sharing a parking lot with Midlands Auto Repair. Nothing fancy. Small location with about 14 tables and a small bar. Formerly a food truck and then had temporary accommodations in the Blackstone area. Now in its own brick and mortar location. Great looking menu. Owner is very friendly and helps wait on you. A number of good options. I went with the 2 meat Parrillas that comes with tostones, yucca, fries and a small salad. Choice of meats include steak, chicken, shrimp, chorizo or chicarron. I went with steak and chicken. Wife got the Patacones with shredded beef. The bun is actually fried plantains. She also got a chicken empanada to take home. The steak and chicken had great grill marks, tasty and well seasoned and the sides were good. Wife liked hers as well. Dessert was a big old piece of flan and churros with caramel sauce. Both very good. The place was hopping when we went on a Saturday evening, but the staff was hustling. Definitely worth a visit.

Looking for something new but not sure where to go? This place is a hidden gem! If you are in the mood to try delicious Venezuelan cuisine without breaking the bank, then definitely give this place a try! The business is family owned. The building is small and unassuming. They have a decently sized menu and their prices are very reasonable ($8-$15 per entree) and their portions sizes are ENORMOUS. Everyone needed a to-go box at the end, so it is definitely a great value for what you pay. We brought our whole family to eat here. For appetizers we tried the papas rellenas, which are deep fried mashed potatoes filled with seasoned beef, served with three separate dipping sauces to drizzle on top. My daughter and her partner ordered the tequenos which are breaded deep fried cheese, similar to mozzarella sticks but with a South American twist. The atmosphere was humble, clean, and welcoming with latin music playing in the background. The chef/owner came to visit us at our table, all of the staff were very friendly. We had the entire place to ourselves and so it felt like we were sitting and enjoying a meal together in a friends home, instead of a restaurant. I ordered the chicken patacones which is a type of Venezuelan sandwich that uses fried plantains to replace the bread and it was stuffed with season shredded chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and a creamy sauce. My son had the pasticho, which is a Venezuelan lasagna type platter with garlic bread and a side salad. My husband ordered the cuban sandwich with french fries. My daughter and her partner both ordered themselves arepas, which are a type of sandwich made from fried ground corn patties stuffed with seasoned meat, egg, black beans, and lots of fresh grated cheddar cheese. They also serve beer, and my husband ordered himself a couple Modelo negros. The food was great and we will be returning here again.

El Arepon Venezuelan Restaurant just opened up in Bellevue, Nebraska (1021 West 23rd Avenue near Olde Towne) - having moved from a midtown location in Omaha. This is my second time being there in the week they've been open. Most everything is homemade, made-from-scratch, and authentic. For dinner last night I had the Tostada: It's an Arepa, dipped in seasoned butter and Deep-Fried! Served with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, sauces, and choice of meat (I had ground beef). My wife had the Steak Arepa: Chopped, seasoned steak, fresh pico de Gallo, and queso fresco. We also had an appetizer: Tostones with chicken. Everything was excellent - but man... that deep-fried tostada was amazing!!The owner, Richard, came by to see how everything was. He is just such a positive, happy individual it's hard not to smile when talking with him. Highly recommended!
