The Ehlers team was so sweet, attentive and sensitive to my cats' needs...and mine. My cat started peeing blood in November and took him in to Ehlers based on a friend's good experience with her two cats. I was scared and annoyed with how frustrating it was to have a cat peeing on everything, especially blood, and the doctor was very attentive and gentle with V (my cat.) He's had bad experiences with vets before and is very weary of others, but he did so well with her. Thank you for being patient with both of us. Over time, V became worse with rapid weight loss, not eating, puking and hiding. I knew that he was declining and took him in multiple times as well has talked to the vet techs and doctors via phone to try different things. They were very considerate and willing to try anything for him. Ultimately, I had to put my sweet boy down based on a possible cancer diagnosis and the doctors were so kind to us and very respectful of ur last moments together. I would recommend them to any pet owner. They care about what they do and care about you as a pet owner. So much so, that they gave me the sweetest little paw prints of my guy that I will cherish forever AND donated a tree to the Arbor Day Foundation in V's honor. Little did they know, he loved to be outside and roam that meant so much to me. Thank you all for caring for me and V so well.

By far Lincoln's best vet for dogs. They work hard to get you in to see the vet fast, the front office loves animals and it shows. The vets take their time to listen and address all of your concerns. Many times they literally sit down on the ground with your pet while they talk. It's a great team if Vets, techs, and front office. If you're looking for a great vet for your animal look no further.

Our first visit to Ehlers and Megan was recommended by a friend. I was impressed. She got down on the floor and visited with our dog Max and discussed his teeth cleaning and the procedure. She called before proceeding with the procedure to let me know what was going on and what needed to be done. I got a call from the office that they were done and when to pick up and instructions and a follow up call the next day. Glad I made the change to this Vet.

I switched to Ehlers Animal Care almost a year ago after being with my previous vet for almost 20 years. I have been very impressed with their professionalism and expertise, as well as their caring and compassionate attitude. My little old dogs are so comfortable at Ehlers, and they used to tremble in fear the entire time at their old vet. Ehlers vets have treated some health issues with my dogs that I thought were hopeless. They have given me and my dogs more years of quality time together.

Five stars for how amazing Ehlers is overall (if I could give more I would). They are empathetic, hands on, amazing, thorough, etc, etc. It was by far our favorite vet for our 6 year old dog ever, and we were really sad to leave them because we moved states. It's going to be VERY hard to find a new veterinarian as great as Ehlers. After moving, our dog got a bad rash, and we have been sick with worry as it has gotten worse. We didn't trust the vet's opinion here so, we asked for a phone consultation with our vet here to see if his diagnosis made sense. She was so amazing, and got back to us the next day- I am now more confident about my dog's health, and less stressed. Unfortunately, I had the bad experience of having to talk with Deb (Deborah?) the receptionist at Ehlers. She was blunt, rude, and seemed really impatient with me. I called to followup about our consultation, and she seemed annoyed, and was rudely sarcastic with niceties. I had her on speaker, and my S.O. asked who in the world I was talking to that was so mean (so I definitely didn't imagine it). I've never talked with her before, we always had a really nice receptionist who was just as amazing, and empathetic as our veterinarian was. Now, I gave 5 stars because I'm not going to let my two experiences with Deb determine my review on Ehlers because we have moved, and I won't need to deal with her again BUT, upfront staff is the first person people are talking to when their dog is sick. When they are stressed, anxious, and worried. If we were still in Lincoln, dealing with her would have been enough to make us switch vets... and I definitely think that's something to note.

If you see your dog as the endpoint of a pharmaceutical distribution chain, then this is the right place for you. Every interaction with this business leads to a prescription or the renewal of same. One prescription was valid, but facts changed with a new medical condition. Instead of stopping the prescription they continued to refill it, even though there is a known "moderate" drug interaction. Even though the drug was inappropriate given the new medical condition. The new medical condition led to another prescription. However, the therapeutic level of the prescription should have been checked with blood monitoring every 3-months. That was not done. Six-months after the initial event, the pet suffered another event. Without the baseline from blood monitoring, the dosage of the drug was increased and yet another prescription was added. All the while, Ehlers Vet continued the original prescription. [As the prescription was mood focused, I discontinued it given the known interactions and inappropriateness mentioned above.]Our pet had a recent event that required a stay at an emergency vet. The emergency vet did blood work and took an x-ray, which were sent to Ehlers Vet on a Friday. Ehlers never called regarding our pet, so I called the next day but they could not answer. I left a voicemail message. They were moving into the new "pill palace". I had to call again on Monday, leaving another voicemail during business hours. I called yet again, at which time they set up an appointment for Tuesday. At the appointment I was told Ehlers Vet does not receive the x-ray. I provided the x-ray within an hour of the visits end. I described environmental factors that may have led up to the pets event from the prior week. We were given a prescription even though the vet had not seen the x-ray.The prescription triggered uncontrolled whole body twitching beginning Wednesday evening. We called the vet to inform them of the reaction. No doctor was available, so we received a callback from admin staff. The recommendation was to keep the pet in a cool room. We did so, applying cool wet towels to the body. We continued to do so until the seizures began Thursday night/Friday morning. After a series of 5 seizures, we took the pet to the emergency vet and had it put down.Eight hours after we had put down our pet and 5-hours after they should have been notified of the death, Ehlers Vet called to inform us they had viewed the x-ray I delivered on Tuesday. I believe they only did so because I had requested its return earlier that morning. Ehlers Vet never called to ask how the pet was doing with regard to the severe drug side effect. The pet was old, but had months of healthy life left in them. That life was shortened by what I review as a disregard for their client - our pet.
