Dumpling Empire has a pleasant atmosphere that feels like stepping into a chic ramen house--cozy, vibrant, and full of energy. The pork dumplings are absolutely incredible, with perfectly seasoned filling and delicate wrappers that are cooked to perfection. While the veggie bao buns are good, I think they could use a bit more improving to bring out their full potential; they seemed more like an afterthought for vegetarians. The only thing I truly missed was the option for vegetarian dumplings--something I hope they add in the future! Despite that, the quality of the food and the overall experience make Dumpling Empire a spot I'd happily return to. I highly recommend!

A simple, open eating space to dine at. Standard interior for the Omaha area. Yummy dumplings and steamed buns. Our first time there, we ordered both the pork belly and beef buns (one each). They were outstanding. Although the pork belly one came out first and the beef one we ended up taking home bc it came after we finished the rest of the meal. Strange timing, for sure, but they credited our bill without us asking--a customer service trick to keep the complaint element low and expectation high, for next time. They were honest about the mistake and took the time to make it right for us. Very appreciated. We also got one order of fried pork dumplings which far exceeded our (very low) standard of made-at-home-from-the-freezer-section style, we are used to. This is def a place to try everything on the menu. We'll be back and soon!

My husband and I met up with family here for dinner on a recent Saturday night. There was a short wait, but they turned tables around very quickly, so it wasn't bad at all! The space is large with plenty of seating available. We were never really given a drinks menu or told what our drink options were, but it seemed they had a variety of soft drinks and maybe a few beers on tap available. My husband and I got hot tea, which wasn't anything special but was hot and soothing.I was disappointed to see almost no vegetarian dumpling options, but there are several vegetarian dishes available otherwise. I ended up getting pan friend vegetable buns and the chili oil noodles to share with my husband. The noodles were my favorite - they were flavored well and were nice and chewy. I highly recommend them!Unfortunately I think our waiter forgot to ring in the buns, because we had gotten the rest of the food for the table and 10 minutes later we had to flag him down for the buns and even after that, it was another 10-15 minutes before we got them. We were basically almost done eating at that point. The buns had a nice fried skirt and good texture of the dumpling itself. The filling, however, was a little bland. We asked for some chili oil for the table and pour a bit of that into the buns amped up the taste quite a bit. We also got sesame balls for the table, which were nice but a little sparse in the filling.Overall a good meal and I would come back, but just missed the mark for a couple things both food and service related. Looking forward to trying some other options on the menu though.

The Mongolian Chicken should be renamed Mongolian Onion. Nearly half an onion in the dish and it seemed like more onion than chicken. The green pepper was sparse and maybe one or two pieces of red pepper.I felt ripped off for $14.00.And there was horrible music playing. Last time here.

It is one of those simple restaurants that feels homey when you step in. It's been hard finding authentic Chinese food in the Omaha area, but this one took me by surprise the first time I went. I really liked the open concept they had and how you can see the dumpling-making stations! The dumplings were especially authentic - a very fitting name for the restaurant! I was slightly disappointed in their noodles, though. They had the traditional types of noodles, but the taste was just a little off. The service was very good - we had the kindest waiter and brought us food and water fast and was attentive throughout our dining experience.

Impecable! We stopped here to have some lunch and wanted to come back as soon as we left. The owner was one of the friendliest people I have ever met. He truly made our experience outstanding. He guided us through the menu and explained the cooking process for the many foods. He constantly checked up on us and truly ensured we had everything we needed. The food itself was absolutely delicious. In total, my family and I ordered around 15 dishes and EVERY SINGLE ONE was incredible. The flavor was so well developed and you could look into the kitchen to watch as the skilled cooks shaped each dumpling by hand. Truly mouth watering. If I'm ever back in the area, I will be sure to return :)

It's saddens me to write this as I do love Dumpling Empire. But tonight's dinner there was one of the WORST service wise I've had at any restaurant. Our server was not attentive, didn't seem like she gave 2 shits. I had to flag her down for my drink to finally get refilled after it had been empty for over half our meal. My son's dish came out barely luke warm so it must have sat for a bit. Food took a while to come and we only ordered 3 things. Meanwhile a large group that came in after us some how managed to get their food very prompt. I mean they had at least 7 items come out before we got 1. Sad when we we ordered before they even sat down. No sauce was given with scallion pancake. This loyal customer is bummed!

Was I overly excited to come here (yes) and did I overly-order as a result (yes) but we're all the leftovers eaten (yes) and would I go back again (yes). Oh and did I forget to order some "staple" items (yes).

Wow!! Way more than we expected! We looked up the menu online prior to coming in, we saw they had "strange taste won ton soup" and that settled it for me... we needed to try this place. This is a sit down and get a menu kinda place with a very upbeat lively feel to it. The wait staff was really patient and helpful, and the patrons are plenty and all looked happy. Then there is the food!!! Beyond delicious. She had the garlic chicken and vegetable buns, I, the Mongolian chicken and of course the strange taste won ton soup. Wow! If you are looking for a great tasting and filing meal, and you happen to be on 72nd st. This is your place to try.We will make this a part of our restaurant rotation. We think you will too !

Very busy at 3pm, but well worth the wait. After being sat we had to wait a little while for service but it gave us time to have all of our food picked out. We choose to try several different dishes, and are so glad we did. The food was great and loved everything we tired, but the cucumber salad was outta this world! Once we placed our food order, or dishes came out one after the other in a very timely manner which gave us time to enjoy every dish we order. We will definitely be back, and can't wait to try more!
