Dogtopia

I've taken my dog here on four occasions for daycare. Although I feel like the staff is friendly and I feel like he is safe I am hesitate to bring him back for the following reasons:1. Maybe this is normal for daycares and boarding, but he smells like dog urine when I pick him up. I feel like I need to give him a bath when I come home.2. The last time I brought him there he developed a respiratory infection after his return.I feel better leaving him home alone rather than here for the reasons above.

My wife just got a text from one of her friends confirming this isn't the first time.

Stepdaughter took her beloved Great Pyrenees/Golden mix (Cooper) to this location as a first time client. First of all she was not given access to the video feed until something went wrong and she had to ask for video access. This is sketchy to say the least. Now for what went wrong. A few days into Coopers stay, my stepdaughter received a call which brought her to tears. Cooper had vomited up a whole, ankle length sock and then vomited blood. How he was able to swallow a whole sock is beyond explanation. Why there was a sock in the facility which did not belong to my stepdaughter is also a question that got no explanation nor even an apology. The staff basically denied that the sock came from their facility and never offered so much as an apology for allowing this to happen. Fortunately there doesn't seem to be any long term damage from this near tragedy. However when Cooper got home he proceeded to vomit numerous times, as if he had been given the wrong food or something. He is allergic to chicken products, which would cause vomiting if mistakenly fed to him. Of course this was also denied by the staff. Again, no apologies for anything and no offer to discount the very expensive cost of his stay. Long story short, do not, under any circumstances, take your beloved pet to Dogtopia! Read the other yelp reviews. Many dogs have come home reeking of urine and needing to be bathed. Too bad my stepdaughter didn't read more reviews before going there.

Not sure if I'd go back to this place to be honest. after my dog stayed for daycare, she smelled like piss, got into my car and now my car smells like it.Also, after my dog came out, they told me that she was anxious when she got in the crate and started rubbing her nose, which made her nose super red and obviously as a dog mom wasn't really happy.

We were excited to find a place for our golden puppy to socialize. We set her up for a few days of daycare before we planned on boarding her (while we were away) so she could get used to it. Today was day one ... and we'll never go back. When we picked her up, she REEKED of piss. Mind you, she hasn't had an accident since she was 9 weeks old, she's now five months. It was obvious that she had pissed in a crate and laid in it. I didn't think much of it because she was nervous to be there & maybe it got to her. So I called to see what their potty schedule was. To my surprise I was told they don't get let out for potty breaks. Are you shitting me? How does this make any sense? I canceled all our future appointments to include boarding. This is unsat.

Dogtopia is quite off the beaten path in terms of location. It's in an industrial complex just west of the big Costco/Alamo/Cabela's complex in LaVista on Portal Rd. We did not have trouble finding it with google maps but were surprised it was not in more of a 'residential' area. This location does daycare and boarding. Now, I have been fortunate to tour and see many of the doggy daycare/boarding facilities in Omaha due to my activity with a dog interest group locally. I will say, that the indoor daycare free roam area is clean, not smelly, and they mop up urine and poop accidents routinely. They use a rubberized flooring like many of the facilities in Omaha do- which is supposed to be more antibacterial. Of all I have been to, Paw Spa is the only one that uses artificial turf and has a very advanced flushing system to clean it well. I think hard floors are just the easiest to clean and manage but I do like the availability of turf (that can be cleaned of course) the best. There is a camera to watch your dog play when they attend daycare. For boarding, I have never done it, but I think your dog gets a crate, which is not a very large space and different dogs (esp ones not trained with the wire crate) will likely react differently to this. The staff here is very friendly and I think that is what sets them apart from other places in town that have similar facilities. I would not hesitate to take my dog here for daycare but not sure about boarding, as my dog might not like the crate.

My husband and I have boarded our dog her a number of times. The staff is great and easy to communicate worries with. They also have an awesome camera system that, yes at times, can go down. But that can happen anywhere! I love just having the option to check in on my pup from time to time! If you communicate with them they will even give your pup a bath before picking them up! My dog likes to play hard so there have been times he comes home smelly, but I know he had fun! The last time we did board our dog he did come home with a version of kennel cough. He is vaccinated for it. Although it sucks that he might've caught it from here, we do understand that it works like the flu for humans! I still highly recommend this place! Our dog comes home tired and happy :)

Our doggy day care and boarding place of choice! We used to go to somewhere else but found Dogtopia a few months ago and are loving it! The staff are always friendly and we appreciate that they are mindful of their pup to staff ratio.What we love most:- Mid-day naptime. Our pup would and has played forever if she were allowed to. Our previous day care did not have naptime and we noticed that she would usually exhaust herself and at times, get snippy towards the end of the day. The 2 hour break gives us much more peace of mind when we send her for a day knowing she won't be playing for a full 8 hours.- Constant cleaning! At our last place, we almost never saw the staff cleaning the playroom. Whenever we're tuned in to the live stream (another nice bonus), I swear someone is always mopping or wiping the kennels.We wish they'd consider opening another location further east in the city! We'd send her much more frequently if they were a little closer.

I have been without power since this morning. I really wasn't worried & figured it would be on by now. But it's notMy dog is very anxious and would not do well at a hotel, he would bark and howl at every little noise.I messaged both Dogtopia's after they had already closed, not really expecting an answer. Explained situation. West location messaged RIGHT BACK! And had made arrangements with Portal Rd location (since that is where I always go) for me to drop my dog offThank you!!! Always awesome customer service...but today you went above & beyond

When looking for care for my pets I am extremely picky and have high expectations. I want to be sure that my pets have plenty of time for play, engagement with caring people as follow any medication protocol. Yes, I am THAT pet parent! While I have never been unsatisfied with the care that my pets receive I am continually disappointed with the cleanliness, vaccination protocol and general health of dogs they are allowing into their care.While my pets are current on vaccinations, annual exams and are in great health. On two occasions, each of them have had returns from Dogtopia kennel cough. Fine. I get it, hazards of boarding. However their last visit will have me looking into other boarding care.Three days after returning home, one of my pets showed signs of ringworm. After a $171 bet bill and positive test result for the contagious fungus, I am beside myself. As convenient as boarding services are, they may double the cost of your best original stay with an follow up vet bill.
